52 Week Colour Challenge, Deep Pink & Lemon Chiffon

Deep Pink...always good fun for me as it is so not my colour. I visited the Pink Ribbon Event and purchased this Boom mesh dress. I was a litte saddened that the invisible prim was noticable above the bust line, so I succumbed and tweaked my shape so that it would disappear under the dress. Having said that it is one sexy dress. The inner panel is slimming whilst the design of the dress gives you curves. What more can a girl ask for...lol.

Lemon Chiffon...oh my! Another not so favourite colour. This time I reached for a Nicky Ree dress (the flowers have lemon chiffon in them). A slinky, sexy gown that is slit thigh high on the skirt with a peek-a-boo side torso window. A tulip bustline corset with a single strap sets off this dress wonderfully. Again, Nicky's hand drawn textures sing for themselves.

Wow! That's 6 colours in as many days...I might just catch up at this rate :)

Two 52 Week Colour Challenges, Dandelion & Aqua

Dandelion...hmmm, no matter what it's called I still don't do yellow.

I went shopping in Decoy and came across these pretty shorts and well placed scarf. The shorts are simple and system, available in a wide range of pretty colours. The scarf is the real star. Clever design and beautful texturing are the key features. Even in 'yellow' I still love it.

Aqua...now there's a colour I adore.

I rooted through my inventory until I came upon a Nicky Ree dress that I had forgotten I had. The DNR Pretty Petal Dress is a floaty summer dress with short sleeves and quite a daring neckline. Again, Nickys hand drawn texturing makes this dress vibrant and alive. It made me think beach so that's where I went to shoot. Worn it a few times since rediscovering it.

I chose AOHARU sandals as their pretty earthstones matched my dress and kept with the beach theme. Also, with matching stones was $GaNKeD$ Arizona necklace. Both these creations pulled the look together.

52 Week Colour Challenge, Alice Blue

Alice Blue...not as dark as I would have thought.

Being a blue kinda gal you would think I would have a shed loads of this blue...wrong! So after a search and try on session I decided to show a Nicky Ree creation. The DNR Beautiful Galatea in silver teal is something out of fairy tales. It conjures up Tales of 1001 Arabian Nights and Sinbad. Beautifully designed and textured this piece speaks for itself. It even comes with hair accessories.

To compliment this piece I chose a PXL skin with Kyoot and Fishy Strawberry make ups. After some thought I chose a LeLutka hair and of course I had to go SLink barefoot.

The location was a wonderful build with a club and a harbour side souk. Please go explore for yourself this great little gem.

52 Week Colour Challenge, Champagne

Champagne....such a gorgeous colour.

To begin this years challenge I have chosen one of Nicky Ree's most beautiful, classic gowns..The Lady Aurora Gown, with the svelte skirt. The texturing is divine, the lace so delicate yet heavy. The design makes this gown suitable for any occasion, from wedding to medieval ball.

52 Week Colour Challenge, Patriarch

Patriarch…huh? Another colour I have never heard of.

I thought long and hard about this one and finally settled on one of Nicky Ree’s beautiful swimsuits/ dress. The *DNR* Tara Sarong Swim Suit & Dress in purple are a great versatile set of clothes for the summer. At it’s barest it is a classic swimsuit with the addition of the sarong…both pieces wonderfully textured and designed. At it’s fullest it is a pretty summer dress ideal for any daytime occasion.

I chose the usual PXL skin and Miriel eyes, plus fri.day hair and Slink shoes. I also added a new purchase from the Dressing Room…glow’s Dark Lun necklace…perfect.

52 Week Colour Challenge, Jade

Jade…a tricky colour as I have plenty of greens but few of this shade.

In the end I went a bit fairy as I chose Nicky Rees Divona dress. Now, although the beautifully made skirt isn’t the right shade, I did feel that the corset was. So I went with it. A pretty strappy backed top sits atop a net tutu…made me go all fantasy.

To continue the theme I added Seven Selections Ragged Fairy Wings in Emerald (close enough to the colour swatch this week) and Ohami Pury in Pistachio, as it sort of matched the wings.

I chose a Frick skin for that other worldly look and I went barefoot with SLink feet.

In this second part of the Nicky Ree releases for RFL 2011 I am going to show you the three established Nicky Ree gowns that have been released in specially selected colours for this years RFL.


Oh, I failed to mention that 100% of the proceeds from all the gown collections mentioned in this blog and the previous will go to the RFL.

I have chosen to show the svelte gowns in all cases but both Tanya and Tricia have other fuller skirt and pant suit options included in the collections.

DNR Lana is a satin and lace gown in pink, a real fairy princess gown. The textures are so immaculate that you can imagine running your hands down the smooth satin. A simple tulip bust lined corset falls into a svelte skirt with train. Fingerless satin evening gloves finish the look.

DNR Tricia is a lace brocade gown fit for any occasion. Again, the texture makes you want to touch the fabric. This time a simple tulip bust lined corset sits upon either a svelte skirt with a long train or a fuller ballgown skirt or a bell shaped skirt. Matching evening gloves give this gown Oscar ceremonies feel to it.

DNR Tanya is a little bit more edgy in design than the other two gowns. A halter neck tops off a variety of options including pants, a ballgown skirt and a simple svelte skirt. The fabric has a crocodile skin pattern to it, making the sheen of the fabric catch the light giving off different hues. This collection is great for a romantic dance or a boogie at a disco.

All three of these collections showcases Nicky’s talent in clothes design and execution. To buy one for FFL is, again, worth every Linden spent.

Nicky Ree’s latest releases are so, so pretty and stunning and sexy…lol. (read breathless)Both a gown and lingerie sets have been released, the DNR Katharina Gown and the DNR Katharina Lingerie Chemis.

The gown, including retro style corset lingerie, is a beautiful, tulip, spaghetti string top, with flower embroidery bust, sitting atop an open fronted, net skirt, also embroidered with flowers, with train. The whole dress screams class and sexy.

The chemise lingerie follows the same pattern as the gown but this time a simple, sheer body lies beneath the empire style skirt. When these components are combined a luxurious babydoll nightie appears.

Astounding design and hand drawn textures yet again show off Nickys talent for producing high quality clothes which have style and sex appeal.

Baroque me Baby

I was at work last week, yes…sorry; I have been away for a bit, when Nicky came instore to rearrange the displays in order to put out a new release, the DNR Mona Baroque Gown & Lingerie Collection. She was wearing the new release and looked stunning in it. I was asked to pick a colour so that I could model it instore; I went for gold.

There are many pieces in this collection and it can be worn from basic undies set, a more elaborate underwear set, a simple corset ballgown through to a full blown Baroque gown. Even with these options there are more than one top and skirt choice. An astounding piece of clothing that shows off Nickys skills beautifully. Hand drawn textures and precision design make for a spectacular collection.

52 Week Colour Challenge...Week 9, Silver

As soon as I saw this weeks challenge was silver I knew exactly what I was going to wear.

Nicky Rees *DNR* Bridal Silva in silver gives a wide choice of dresses and gowns to wear, along with a veil. In this case I chose to show the dress option. A low, cowl neck, spaghetti strapped top falls into a curve fitting knee length skirt. The skirt is mostly made up of lace net that is cut on the bias. With superior textures and stunning design this dress, whether long or short, is a head turner. It’s classy and sexy all rolled into one.

I teamed it with Moody shoes, PXL skin, Truth hair and Alienbear jewellery.

WOW! New Release

I know I wax lyrical about Nicky Ree and her clothes but this week she blew me out the water with her latest release.

The Pheonix Costume was designed for Serene Faith and helped her win the Miss Virtual World 2011 title.

Now this spectacular gown is available to the rest of us. Based on the Tang dynasty but with a modern twist this costume is a show stopper.

A beautiful svelte gown lies beneath fabric panels then its topped off with a sumptuous transparent full length coat. The design, the textures, the prim work…all absolutely amazing.

I have shown it here as MVW 2011 national costume. The hair is from Tukinowaguma and is complemented with Alienbears jewellery and head piece. Both creators joining Nicky in creating the most elegant, regal, stunning national costume for the competition.

Sepia…interesting colour. I confess to having lots of earthy colours in my wardrobe but not that many that are actually sepia. The best, and most fondly rediscovered, is Rebel Surf Co. Cocoa Floral Bikini.

Yellow…oooo…definitely not my colour and as such I don’t have much in my inventory that colour. Fortunately, working for Nicky Ree means I get a variety of colour dropped on me for work. One such gown was the DNR Reona Gown in Yellow.

Glitter and Fur

Nicky Ree’s latest release is a nod to old Hollywood glamour. The Gina Mermaid Gown sparkles and will turnh heads wherever you go.

A wonderful deep cleavage ‘v’top front matches the deep dipping back, with spaghetti strings mimicking the front ‘v’. A svelte skirt finishing in an abundance of net forming the ‘mermaid’ tail shows off every curve a girl has. Included are both the fur boa and hat to keep you warm on these Winter nights. Every surface has Nicky’s famous hand drawn textures meaning that the quality, as well as the design, is just first class.

I have hardly taken it off my pixels since getting it and blogging other things has become a bit of an issue as I have to take it off…lol.
Seriously, want a head turner for this Christmas??? Then you can do no wrong with the glamorously stunning DNR Gina Mermaid Gown.

OK, so I have found a work around for shooting…woot! Still involves an alt but I can now use my main inventory so more choice of clothes.

Goldenrod…now what on Earth is that???? Judging by all the posts I have seen so far it’s a shiny yellow. As it was Nicky Ree released the DNR Josie Corset Gown and Dress which, in yellow, appeared to be the perfect colour…result!

Plum next and this caused a bit of fun finding something. In the ned I was a tadge liberal with my plum…I ‘plumed’ for a pale plum in the end….I know *groan*.

Bat Magic

Nicky has had a flurry of releases in the past two weeks. One of which has been the DNR Sexy Bat Magic Set, with salsa dress, teddy and bat wings.

Before I wax lyrical about the clothes I have to say that the latest release from Alienbear Gupte is a dream. The Bloody Queen Rohesia set includes a tiara, necklace, earrings and ring. All beautifully crafted and designed just for Halloween. The detail and colour are stupendous, please see the first shot, and as can be seen in shots 2 and 3 match Nicky Rees new design perfectly.

Talking of which…The Sexy Bat Magic Salsa dress is sexy, stunning and beautifully detailed. The tulip bodice is crafted with bats and the skirt, two prim piece is so realistic that it jumps out at you. The folds and sheen are superb, thanks to that all famous hand drawn textures. The skirt is even topped by a tiny 3-D bat…cute! All this and the addition of matching bat wings. Just right for any upcoming Halloween parties.

Also included is the teddy which would set any dark beings pulse racing. In the last shot I am wearing the group special offer, the Bat Magic Teddy in orange. Just 50L$ until the 31st Oct. 2010.

I am so looking forward to Halloween with plenty of choice of fashion, clothes and costumes available at Nicky Rees.

Black Magic II

OK, part II of this Nicky Ree blog fest. The other new release is the unisex DNR Night Magic Jacket Set.

This set includes trousers, both boot fitted and cut…again in this wonderful hand drawn texture. The jacket is more of a cloak, with a monstrous swathe of fabric topped off with a feather collar and shoulders. If that wasn’t enough then Nicky has also included another head dress of feathers, arranged Mohawk style. The design and creation of this set are stupendous.

Whether male or female you are certainly bound to be noticed wearing this jacket.
