Moved Again...

My inworld abscence has ended...I have moved to another country yet again. The bloke and I are are now in France and the almighty task of unpacking boxes has started.

My return to SL will be gradual and my blog posts brief for now.

So, it's good to be back and, hopefully, I'll get back into the swing of things fairly quickly. See you out there....

It's a POSE FAIR!

Thanks to the hard work of Katey Coppola of Glitterati and her team we are going to have a POSE FAIR! Yep those unsung heroes of our SL days & nights are getting their own fair. It doesn't open until April 2, but save this limo for then: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Shisei/129/128/21


I've been fortunate to get a sneaky peek from my SL sis, Grazia Horwitz. She is getting ready to open a new pose shop called /GEEZ/ after the fair and I've been lucky enough to have her new goodies dropped on me. The poses range from casual, to elegant, to jazzy and energetic. I'm showing a sampling above. I have to say that some of the poses will make you feel just as elegant as Grazia always looks.

I'm dressed for Relay For Life. My team this year is Spirit of Relay. I'm wearing our team shirt designed by Zann Canto. You'll have to join the team to get it :) Otherwise just wearing Nantes from Tiny Bird, ETD Vintage Capris and Periquita Sueshoo sandals in green. Skin is one of my usual PXL Creations. And I'm wearing my NEW Everday Simplicity earrings made for me by Jori Watler of alaMood. Thanks Jori. Now I can feel dressed without looking like a blingwit.

When you see a RFL kiosk do donate a few lindens--finding a cure for cancer is the aim of ALL of us involved in RFL and every single linden helps.

Humming along...

This post could also be titled "I (heart) Beaning Canning." As well as "I (heart) Samara Cioc. The reasons will be come clear :)

The post started with the check gauze shirt in blue from ::humming::, which came to my attention via Beanie's blog, Beanie Loves Japan, a resource for all of us who enjoy the Japanese creators in SL, but lack the language skills or time to seek out what Beanie so generously shares with us. The texture and collar are totally sweet. I paired the shirt with the Whippet & Buck Stein tailored shorts in Indigo and my favorite summer soles, SueShoo in White from Periquita.

My poses are from [pda] aka Penny Dreadful Arcade. Samara Cioc's poses are full of quirkiness with many drawing on film imagery. It was fun to break out of the modeling pose range for this outfit. So many thanks to Beanie and Samara :)

A *Modest* Summer Shopping Spree

I sure my age is showing, but I'm not fond ofhaving my pants dip perilously close to my nether regions in either life and it's very hard to find trousers or shorts that don't have that feature in SL. Sure I can always wear a long top, but I'd rather have the shorts do the job.



Fortunately this fashion season there are several options for shy buttons. The first are the Stein Tailored Shorts from Whippet & Buck. The upper part is provided on all layers for easy mixing and matching with your choice of tops. On the left I am wearing the Stein shorts in Finch with the Mo Tube Top in Grasshopper from Miel. My shoes are my summer favorites, the SueShoo in Green from Periquita, now available in their outlet store at Starlust.

On the right I'm wearing the Stein shorts in Navy with the top from /artilleri/'s Jeanette Bikini in Red & White. You can't see, but I am wearing SueShoo in white! My hair in both pictures is Elizabeth 2 from Truth in Jupiter. PXL Creations Kim in Natural is gracing my pixels.




I discovered threse shorts from Beetle Bones when wandering around Creators Pavillion. It's a store new to me. There aren't many items there, but it's worth the wander. These are the Jasmine Highwaisted Pants in Cream. As always I had to play with the primmy bits, but they settled down nicely after a little coaxing. Shoes are the hyasynths from Shiny Things. Skin & hair are as above.

So a summer salute to Beetle Bones and Whippet & Buck for providing some summer modesty with a fashion flair!

T'was yesterday, but I was too busy dancing at her wonderful party. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! In celebration I'm presenting several of hya's most recent delights.



First up is the Lottie Suite in Sterling, which can be edited to any color your heart desires :) It can also be mixed and matched as above. On the right I'm wearing the ballgown without the shrug. On the left I'm wearing the shrug and top with the Pixel Dolls Comfort Skirt in black. The pictures don't do the detail justice.

On the right my hair is ETD's Aiiyanna in Auburn Burnt. The mask is a color change one from Illusions. On the left hair is ETD Aveda Short Bob in Sienna. Shoes are the hyasynths from Shiny Things. My skin in both pictures is from PXL Creations --probably CatEyes/Flamenco lips.





Next is Severina, named for Severina Dollinger, the makers of boots extraordinaire:) Again the textures are amazing, especially on the lace neckpiece and the lace cuffs. It comes with the lolly skirt and the open bustle tails. And hya recently added some wonderful colors to your choices. My boots are the old ETD Calf Boots, no longer available, alas :( Hair is Grazia2 from Truth in Cranberry I think... Skin is PXL Creations Kim in Natural.




Last, but not least, is a recent Lucky Chair prize -- bits and pieces from her Scraps & Gutter Glitter separates colored in the Gay Pride rainbow. I *think* I added a shirt from the Voltaire Suit. Shoes are Periquita's S-Steps in Red. My earrings and necklace are Alienbear's Pearl Teardrops in Black. Hair is ETD's Loraine 2 in Auburn. Skin is PXL's Kim I think.

I hope you can see both the quality and variety of hya's work. While her audience is predominantly Goth, don't ignore the total wearability of her styles, particularly for formal parties. Happy Rezday hya <3

Why I Love Ivalde -- Part II

First I am wearing 2 dresses from different Ivalde periods. On the left is Charlotte, one of the 2007 Advent goodies. What is so amazing here is the detailed design and embroidery, which also extends to the back of the bodice. The skirt fits and moves beautifully. The only flaw is a bit of alpha conflict in the skirt. My shoes are the Periquita S-Steps in Yellow. They have the same acidity as the dress, edging towards a tinge of green.

On the right is the citified, yet feminine, Margaretha with a gray frill-edged system skirt and a teal peplum overblouse closed at the throat with a bar pin. It's those kinds of details that make Ivalde's clothes so complete. Shoes are ETD Starley in Teal. Skin for both shots is PXL Creations Grace Natural Cat-eye with Flamenco lips and freckles. Mt hair in both shots if Truth's Linda in Auburn and Carrot I believe



Above is Sigrid -- Nef's generous gift to us at the new Retrology store. For some reason I couldn't fit the long skirt to my satisfaction. So, instead, I slid the baby doll skirt down a bit and voilà, a lovely cocktail length dress. Note again the jewel detail at the throat and decolletage--beautiful work indeed! The texture as well as the fluttery stand-up sleevelets are further evidence of the quality that is Ivalde. Skin and shoes are the same as above and my hair is Truth's Luna in Auburn.

Odelia on my Mind!

When I saw Persona's Odelia on the fashion feed I was SURE that I wanted one of the butterflies, but when I got to the store .... the green leaves came home with me ;)


Myllie Writer of Persona goes from strength to strength. I remember visiting her first store and getting the then freebies, but over a period of time I have acquired a lovely range of her designs.

These dresses are nigh perfect. The skirt prims fit straight off -- the criss-cross back straps are absolutely unexpected and well done. And there are 3 hem patterns in 3 colors each! At a very reasonable price too!

I'm wearing Periquita's SueShoos in Green, Dotted Pantyhose from *Sheer*, Earthtones Grazia necklace in Everglade/Gold, ETD's Patricia in Auburn Burnt and Fleur's Limited Edition Emma RFL 3.
