Wintertime

Happy New Year! For these holidays, I felt like putting together a really warm and cozy outfit. Yes, in spite of living in Spain. Yes, it gets really cold here too, and there are days when you just feel like snuggling up underneath a blanket with a good read. The small difference is that I can't go ice-skating where I live...

Despite my still ongoing period of nonshopping I managed to put together a decently up-to-date look. I started out with the Marius knit sweater in purple by /artilleri/, an absolutely adorable piece that I bought already in spring last year, and was looking forward to putting on again. I figured the Winter Jennifer hair by fri.day (an old Fifty Linden Fridays item, no longer available) would match nicely, what I couldn't imagine is that the beanie would be in the exact shade of purple as the sweater. What a win.

Then I added the silver leggings that are part of the R.icielli New Year Special set for The Dressing Room and my Manolos, that is, another oldie that's still around, the Manolo boots in grey by Magnifico Exclusive. All set! The skin is another TDR special, Tuli's Helena 01, which gone for good, but adds up to the general purple goodness. Poses are part of the slightly silly, yet awesome Ice Skater pack by La Petite Morte, courtesy of Samara Barzane who lets me borrow her photosphere (I promise I cleaned up after me!).

52 Yellow

Took me two shoots to get yellow right, but I think I got it. I also experimented with AnaLu's windlight settings. I know, I'm so 2008. Shadows? What are those?

My top is /artilleri/'s Ah Bella shirt in Tropical Yellow. I love the neckline and the sleeves. They are tarty, yet elegant. My skirt is part of the *NR* Gift Box Satin Shine Cocktail Dresses Yellow from Designing Nicky Ree. The ETD d'Orsay Stilettos in Random Yellow grace my feet. They are oldies, but very goodies. The last 3 items are no longer available I think.

52 Goldenrod

Thanks to Luna Jubilee for this challenge:) Only two items came up for Goldenrod in my inventory and one had already been blogged so I decided to dig a bit further for "may be named 'yellow' but sure looks like goldenrod to me" options. I ended up in /artilleri/ as her "yellow" looks "goldenrod" to me;)


So I am wearing... /artilleri/'s Bowling shirt *Flames - Black/Color* and the skirt from Poodle Power! *yellow* . It feels as though it needs a belt, but any belt I added covered the obvious match between the two parts so got nixed. Anyway it's two powerful retro icons in a single shot!

I'm still wearing Kalnin's Promenade boots, PXL Creations Candy Bronze Lips in Natural and Elikatira's Details in Blonde 02.

South Pacific in Bloem

OK, so, after Nicky Ree dropped the Nadia Liquid Swim Set on me, a week later she dropped the Bloem Swimming Costume and Dress Collection on me.

It was love at first sight. The all-in-one swim suit is traditional in cut but stands the test of time. This along with Nickys beautiful hand drawn textures and the delicate colours make for a classic bathing costume. Once I had added Artillieri’s orchid hair flower I was all ready to star in South Pacific.

As usual with Nickys clothes, the costume does not come alone. Included are both a simple, above knee, system skirt ( for those trips into town) and a flippy prim skirt for floating along the beach with. Both skirts are well made and merge wonderfully with the top.

I chose the healthy natural PXL Creations Grace skin again, along with Cakes short, curly Berlin hair. Slinks tiptoe barefeet once again grace my avatar, I seriously can’t take them off.

I have been roaming inworld in this look for most of the time in the past week, so I thought I would share it with you all.

Summer Shopping

Two of the best places for summer SL shopping are Artilleri and Whippet&Buck. With a bit of Humming thrown in. From left to right...

W&B Lizzy Cropped Boatneck in Coral. This one is a real teaser, Modest front then a tied peek-a-boo back. It comes in so many colors that you should just get the fatpack and be done with it. On the bottom are the Artilleri Johanna Denim Shorts. They are a bit high-waisted with the best rolled cuffs ever! Earrings are Whippet&Buck's Aemilia. Again in many colors. And yeah just get that fatpack LOL

Artilleri's Darla shirt in red, minus its red tie is paired with W&B's Georgie shorts in West Coast. Many beautiful colors. Don't make me say it again ;) Violet Voltaire Heart Container earrings and pink plaid flats from In Her Shoes complete the look.

Finally, those Artilleri shorts again with the CheckGauze Shirt from Humming and Shiny Things Zimmy Flats.

So get thee to a store and stock up for summer!

I ended up in this outfit because my favorite furry dance club, Club Cutlass, was having Hillbilly Night. This was the best I could do on short notice :) I'm wearing ETD Jessica II hair in Blonde Frosted [a dollabie--hat included], /artilleri/ Jed men's shirt, minus the pockets, ETD Vintage Denim Capris and Fleur Skins Allure Kit 2 in Cinnamon. No shoes obviously! And yes, the background is one of Claude Monet's haystacks ;)


I want to apologize for my absence recently -- fortunately Elaine & Fury are taking up the slack nicely :) It's been RFL inworld and RL outworld, including the demise of my desktop graphics card :(

Mash Times 2

Sometimes a mashup comes with buying a new item and then creating a "look" around it. Other times it comes from somewhat random wanders in one's inventory. This post contains one result of each method.




One method I use when I don't know what to wear is to search for a specific color and wear the first of each kind of item that comes up. Sometimes a little cheating is necessary, but on the whole interesting outfits emerge. This mashup started because I was wearing Tuli's Group Gift Meredith skin, Silver Shine in Sunkissed. So I searched on "blue."

My sweater is the Blue Cashmere Sweater from Catt's Creations [now closed inworld but available on SLX according to her profile] Underneath I have tucked the Smock Tube Top that comes with a sweater from Tres Blah! My jeans are from Second Wave Apparel in Indigo. Shoes are the bottom part of Maitreya's Dune Boots in Blue. My necklace is Lucas Lameth's redo of my old favorite of his, Louvelle. My hair is SHY48 from booN in Blonde.




My second mashup is organized around one of Decoy's newest items, the Izzy Cardigan in Navy. Because I'm a bit modest I'm wearing Sioxie Legend's Cami T-shirts in Tropical Hibiscus underneath. In order to tie it all together I wandered over to artilleri to get the Nina Highwaist Pants in Green and pulled ETD's Hampton Wedges in Caribbean from my inventory. My necklace is an old favorite, the Wooden Heart in Green from Tuli. Hair is ETD Xaria in Auburn Burnt and my skin is Tuli's Meredith Captivating Copper in Pale.

Doing an inventory search or pulling an outfit together for a new item is a good way to find old friends in you inventory.

Sangria Skirt

After a long abscence a shopping spree was a must. I discovered this stunning high waisted skirt at Maitreya but which colour to choose? All of them screamed me, me me..., hmmmm....the red yelled the loudest...lol. So, a well crafted system skirt, with wonderful textures, is made a must have by the 'belt'. This clever attachment comes with a resize script..perfect!

Next decision was 'What do I wear with it?' My first choice was going to be a crisp, white, stylish shirt. However, I failed to find one to my liking that went well with the skirt so I had a rethink. Eureka! Gisaci's trenchcoat! I already owned it in nero (black) and tried it on....lol. That's the top sorted.

OK...hair...seems to be my all purpose style at the moment Truths Gillian and shoes...yes, again, ZYCreations Black Stiletto Pumps.

However, there was something still missing.....i dove into my accessories and came out with /artilleri/ greta glasses in black. Yes! Perfect for that serious but sexeh librarian look.

I will be going back for more colours of that high waisted skirt...I can still hear them calling...lol

Mixedup Wednesday!

I'm not sure where this outfit started. I THINK I was already wearing the PixelDolls jeans in Ash picked up at the PD sale. Then I added the subscribe-o Valentine gift sweater from Church of Luxe in red with the adorable heart pattern and back cutout. Next came my favorite Artilleri Funky Scarf/Cherries. It was the first scarf I bought in SL(tm) and I keep going back to it. I covered my middle with homemade undies in black. I figure if I'm wearing a scarf my middle needed covering.




Shoes are Sling Pumps "CHAINED" in Night from MB-CreationZ, a creator I found courtesy of Ana Lutetia's plurk. I'm also wearing Violet Voltaire's Cameo Butterfly Earrings in Olive, the OTK Fair Isle socks from Fleur in Gray and Truth's Lily in Auburn. Skin is one of my favorite Fleur Allures, Smudged 2 in Truffle.

Mirror, Mirror ...

Facing each other yes, but if one of these sees the other in the mirror ... well then something is decidedly wrong LOL. Yet there is much that is similar.


In both shots I am wearing ETD Jeans in Silver, Miam Miam's Multi Jeweled earrings and necklace, one of the new Fleur Marni skins [#1 & #2]. Artilleri's Oslo sweater in orange and plum and ETD's wonderful new heel strap platform shoes in Persimmon and Orchid. My hair is, on the left ETD's new style, Natasha in cinnamon burnt, on the right Aiiyanna in auburn burnt.

I have to say that the shoes and the jeans in particular have clung to my pixels since I got them. And to finish off a closeup of the earrings, which are among the loveliest I have seen in Second Life.

Baby, it's cold outside ...

This is my first real change of seasons in SL, not that we need to, but any excuse for some shopping I'll take :) So I've been exploring the new items out there for us in the Winter Wonderland that SL is becoming these days.

I took the "something old, something new" approach to this outfit. Well I suppose when your avi's only 6th months old, nothing is really OLD, but here goes.


Old, the black PixelDoll skinny jeans for boots from the Port Seraphine sale. "Old" the Armidi Gisace men's turtleneck sweater in beige. [Well it WAS last month! LOL] Old, the belt from the discontinued Ariana outfit from Last Call. It's one of the few belts I have found that looks good on a small avi -- after a little "tweaking" that is ;) Old -- the freebie earrings from Cailyn.

New [for me at least], ETD's calf boots in black. New for all of us, the Lydia hairstyle from ETD, a recent group freebie. And NEWEST! The Cherries flexi scarf from Artilleri! The scarf replaces the turtleneck prim on the sweater, but with such a snuggly adorable flexi scarf I'm toasty! And the skin is NEW, one of the new ones from Chai, Alloy in the Ginger tone.

So let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
