52 ELECTRIC LIME

I don't seem to have a lot of electric lime lying around, so when an inventory search hit on hya's Toxine Suite, it was a go. And it just got limier from there. The poses that came with the fruit worked better with bikinis, so I just rezzed some of /GEEZ/ naughty & nice and proceeded to play with the rotation. The sky setting is one of Torley Linden's funkier ones.

52 Cerise

Now *I'm* the one who is behind again. So here, a bit later, is CERISE! I started with the ~silent sparrow~ special edition Lysander suit, but in the end all I am wearing from it are the belt and the wings, which I tinted slightly. My tube top and pants are from 5th + Oxford. They are having a brand-closing sale. Everything is 50L including these nautical outfits. My shoes are from Adam n Eve, the newish Margots in cerise/white. My skin is and old Fleur Allure one [alas no longer available] and the earrings are "No Love Lost" from Violate Voltaire. Poses are from the "Naughty & Nice" set from /GEEZ/.

52 Sepia

I've been champing at the bit on this one as I knew the minute sepia was announced as the next 52 challenge color that I would wear hyasynth Tiramisu's Coronis Suite from ~silent sparrow~. It was one of my first big splurge purchases from there and I've never regretted it. Coronis is a ball-worthy gown if there ever was one.

52 Plum

Yep it's a plummy challenge this week. I didn't have trouble finding Plum in my inventory. The problem was deciding. Finally I decided on a now [unfortunately] discontinued ~silent sparrow~ dress called Meadowlark. hya has grown in her work since then, but this dress always makes me feel like an elegant country maiden. Even back then there are about 1000 skirt options:) hya has always been a generous creator. Love you hya!


I'm also wearing Adam n Eve's new Taylor skin in Natural Blush. I can't emphasize enough how beautiful this whole skin is from tits to tail ;) Hair is Maitreya's Uma in Copper, which I seem to wear when I want something quirky and chic. Jewelry is from [ET] Frippery-- The Waltz of the Snowflakes.

One-Offs

Trying to get rid of a bit of blogging backup here :)


The first one is more of a "Two-Off." I wanted to show off the Grim Bros Rose Shoes in all their glorious detail. They are available in MANY colors and the price, at L$277, means I will come back for more. The steampunk detail is softened by the curlicues AND the gears move! The blur in Annyka Bekker's fishnet stockings is NOT her fault--I was too impatient to let it rez fully. Her fishnets are the very best on the grid I wager. I'm wearing various parts of a ~silent sparrow~ lucky chair outfit. The pieces are recolors from hya's Gutter Glitter and Scraps collections, including the wonderful tattoo. I'm wearing one of the Audrey Little Miss skins in Medium and my hair is ETD Patricia in Auburn Burnt.


One the right is a Kuri Style dress available for L$2. I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful the top is and how beautifully the layered skirt moves. For L$2 go find out for yourself. It does come with a leopard shrug, which didn't suit this look. On my feet are the Pinup shoes in Grey Python from Stiletto Moody. My hair is Chelsea Hotel from Tiny Bird --a 50 Linden Friday purchase.

On the left is Dutch Touch's new Jolie skin, the Dew makeup in Cream. I love the freckles -- they look very realistic. This is the first of the Dutch Touch skins that hasn't overwhelmed my avi and I love it! Hair is Elizabeth 2 from Truth and I'm wearing bits from Laila and Ebba by MichaMi. Earrings are from [chuculet].

Flight of Fancy

It all started with a picture Aemilia Case posted on plurk -- a hairstyle with a witch's hat. I asked for a version without a hat and she said it was coming. And here it is -- Twig Snap in Red Spice.




In IMs with Aems I suggested it looked like "cootie garages" and that it needed birds to make it complete, since it resembled a coiled bird's nest. I ended up attaching the HPMD* bluebird to my chin and editing ... and yes it's one of those that ^chirps^. I was able to make it small enough to nestle in my hair. I love the stray flying bits in the style as well as the slightly ragged-edged bangs.

Continuing the theme of flight I then added the *BOOM* Aranel's Wings (flared). These wings are beautifully made. I particularly like the bit of glow around the edges as well as the heart "plumb line."

The rest of my outfit I have blogged before: belt from Dark Mouse, MichaMi's Laila top in Cream, LF Fashion Isabeau leather pants in brown, J's ankle boots in sand and PXL Creation's Grace Natural cateyes/rose lips with freckles. My tattoo, barely visible, is the hart, thistle & thorn tattoo from ~silent sparrow~.

In the Pink of the Mode!

I knew I wanted "In the Pink" for my post title, but looked it up just to be sure I wasn't committing some linguistic faux pas. And found the above phrase in the literary definitions!




The "pinks" in question are hya's Panty Raid Hunt goodie, the Helena set in Madder, and MichaMi's Beatrix dress, in Pink of course:) I'm wearing them both with Truth's new Marianne hair in Auburn and one of the about-to-be-released Audrey Summer Cocktail skins from 5th & Oxford. My shoes above are ETD's Peep Slingbacks in Purple. Please note hya's wonderful textures. Jewelry is Violet Voltaire's Melancholy in Purple.




MichaMi's Beatrix is a dress I had ignored until now, but, with my new job at MichaMi I thought I should give it a try and I'm glad I did. The skirt is a fun one giving sudden peeks at the teeny plaid panties underneath. SHOCKING ;) My shoes are Shiny Things Lady Zig Zags in Black and my jewelry is the Alienbear Teardrop set in Black

Old and New Favorites from Silent Sparrow

When hyasynth Tiramisu puts her creativity to the pixels all is good, but some delight more than others.

For example the new Voltaire Suit, worn here in Leather, has striped textures nicer than any I've seen from hya before. All the parts work delightfully, but I have to admit that this scarf whore has plans for that jabot ;) Additionally every "suit" has prims sized for the female figure. I also guess this is the place to confess that I thought "Voltaire" referred to the French philosopher. Oh well :)

But my all time favorite from hya's hand is Beloved --here in Sea. The textures, the flexi prims, the texturing is just heartstoppingly lovely. I've paired it with ETD Aiiyanna in Smoke Faded [old textures] and the Fleur Allure China skin made for hya's Suzume dress. The feather around the eyes matches the Sea Beloved perfectly!

A Fleur by any other name.

Is still a Fleur even if I am late to the party. I've had this image ready to blog for a bit, but what with my winding down my work at Fleur and closing down my translations agency the lovely Fleurs slipped through the cracks in the pixelated ether.



What I am wearing is the result of a collaboration between Fleur and ~silent sparrow~ --hyasynth's dress is named "Fleur" and the Fleur Allure China skin is called "L'Oiseau." in honor of hya's twittery birdie-ness. I'm wearing Fleur in Violet without the modesty tummy panel. The beautiful tattoo is included. Hair is Scarlet from Truth.

You can't "shrug" this one off ;)

hyasynth Tiramisu makes glorious outfits, but she also makes wonderful smaller things, among them the Grimly skirts, her cardigans and now, Shruggie.




Shruggie comes in some wonderful colors [I'm wearing it in Creme] and has nice primmy bits, but I left them off as they didn't look quite right with the rest of the outfit. Besides this way you see how wonderful hya's textures are on the system layer. Shruggie comes in the jacket and shirt layer, which is VERY helpful as the top of the eLDee Kiki pants is on the jacket layer. I'm wearing Celestial Studio's Trixie cami in Rouge on the undershirt layer. Shoes are the Tesla Marie in Red & Tan. I think they pick up the colors in the outfit nicely:)

Hair is Ivy from Truth in Carrot and my skin is Fleur Allure Lounge 2 in Truffle. Earrings are an old group freebie from SLink. Poses are mostly by {flowey}

Don't "shrug" this one off -- you'll find many uses for these little wonders from the hands of hya :)

Why You Should Care about hya's Photoshop

One SL(tm)'s most creative beings, hyasynth Tiramisu, is without Photoshop temporarily.

We should care, because her frequent releases flatter our pixels and free our imagination. During this brief hiatus I thought I would show you why hya's work is so valued.



First is a Limited Edition of Violet Noir. I'm a lousy hunter so I bought it from someone selling theirs. As always, hya provides for you on every layer. There is a more modest version of the top, but I love the soft lacey openness. The prims move beautifully, with the violet overskirt complementing the corset. My hair is Lxei, one of the Nyanotech hairstyles from Curious Kitties. My skin is Fleur Shoujo 5 in Lily I believe. The purple flower around the eye suited the whole look I thought.



Second is her latest, Moonchild in Rust. She was sure it was too "goth" for me, but worn with the classic ETD Patricia hairstyle in auburn burnt it becomes a bit tamed. The details on the bodice, the belted straps and the brroch, not to mention the collar and prim ruffle in copper just add to the wonderfulness of Moonchild. The slacks are also belted and visible under the wonderful jacket tails, which have delightful feathery innards. Skin is Fleur Allure Smokin' 3 in Truffle while the boots are Stiletto Moody's Bitch Booties.

HH Part Two

I figured the best present I could give hyasinth Tiramisu for her Rezday pressie was to purchase some of her wonderful outfits. I have to say her clothes have helped me find that little corner of me that can do a slightly goth look. It's nice to stretch your comfort zone a bit from time to time.

So here's one that I bought, The Caged Bird Lolita in Copper. Again the details flat out rock and roll. The bow and the jabot are beautiful drawn and lie perfectly on the body. And the color variation in the outfit is very subtle and interesting.


Now obviously that isn't ETD hair LOL. And I'm not sure about it. It is House of Heart Unkept in Black -- I'm wearing the demo. I've been eyeing all those flexi curls people have been wearing and gasping at their Avatar Rendering Cost, but I finally fell and went back and bought this one in the Natural Reds. Skin is Fleur's Lady Aurora. Shoes are a Halloween gift from Shiny Things.

A Flight of Fancy

** I managed to fry my husband's laptop. Why is this important you ask? It had the better graphics card. *cries* So I am back to my desktop and less than ideal images to post until I can see if I can replace the graphics card in this machine. It was nice while it lasted :( **

On to today's post. I have visited Silent Sparrow on several occasions, mostly to view the wonderful surrealistic images of Jessica Ornitz. But I had never felt that the Silent Sparrow style was for me and the prices were a bit high for me to experiment. Then the fashion feed whispered "sale", so I thought let's give it another chance.


What I found was Poppies" in purple. It's a bit spooky, very elegant and more than worth the sale price of L$ 150. I particularly enjoy the detailing on the corset-type top and the wonderful filmy prim skirt. It comes with the wonderful long gloves, but I did have to make some glitch pants to protect myself from nasty system skirt breaks. Please designers -- including those makes an avi happy :)
