I could be a Trophy Wife

Nicky Ree’s first New Year release is the *DNR* Lacy Lace Mini Dress, which she has put on offer for the whole of January.

Now, I have to admit it’s not a dress I was immediately bowled over by BUT having tried it on and put my own twist to it I haven’t taken it off my pixels since.
The design is fairly simple, with a pretty border anglais material (all hand drawn as per usual with Nicky). A cropped top pairs with a mini skirt, which comes in both prim and system forms.

I started with the shoes and thought ‘what goes with olive?’….gold! N-Core came to the rescue. It was only then that I started to think of accessorising it with Indian jewellery; I delved into my inventory and came out with Yak & Yeti’s Bollywood set. I even made the flower nose ring into a belly jewel. Oh, and just for fun I added a White Widow tattoo.

The skin is a favoutite of mine, PXL’s Candy skin, the eyes are my usual Miriels and the hair is a recent purchase from 69.

Wintertime

Happy New Year! For these holidays, I felt like putting together a really warm and cozy outfit. Yes, in spite of living in Spain. Yes, it gets really cold here too, and there are days when you just feel like snuggling up underneath a blanket with a good read. The small difference is that I can't go ice-skating where I live...

Despite my still ongoing period of nonshopping I managed to put together a decently up-to-date look. I started out with the Marius knit sweater in purple by /artilleri/, an absolutely adorable piece that I bought already in spring last year, and was looking forward to putting on again. I figured the Winter Jennifer hair by fri.day (an old Fifty Linden Fridays item, no longer available) would match nicely, what I couldn't imagine is that the beanie would be in the exact shade of purple as the sweater. What a win.

Then I added the silver leggings that are part of the R.icielli New Year Special set for The Dressing Room and my Manolos, that is, another oldie that's still around, the Manolo boots in grey by Magnifico Exclusive. All set! The skin is another TDR special, Tuli's Helena 01, which gone for good, but adds up to the general purple goodness. Poses are part of the slightly silly, yet awesome Ice Skater pack by La Petite Morte, courtesy of Samara Barzane who lets me borrow her photosphere (I promise I cleaned up after me!).

It's a Pose Fair!

I realize we're all "faired-out", but this is a fair chock full of goodies for all of us! And it benefits a great cause, epilepsy. I only had time to do one small corner of the fair, which being held on the Cheese sim, but came away with some interesting, useful and not expensive poses from Miamai, Just a Pose, Hopscotch and *hmaem*. Nothing pictured is over L$50. The pose on the far right is from Hopscotch and is part of a set useful for big ball gown skirts. The rest of the details are below.

52 Week Colour Challenge...Week 9, Silver

As soon as I saw this weeks challenge was silver I knew exactly what I was going to wear.

Nicky Rees *DNR* Bridal Silva in silver gives a wide choice of dresses and gowns to wear, along with a veil. In this case I chose to show the dress option. A low, cowl neck, spaghetti strapped top falls into a curve fitting knee length skirt. The skirt is mostly made up of lace net that is cut on the bias. With superior textures and stunning design this dress, whether long or short, is a head turner. It’s classy and sexy all rolled into one.

I teamed it with Moody shoes, PXL skin, Truth hair and Alienbear jewellery.

52 SILVER

YAY! I'm actually posting in the right week:) I do have a lot of silver in my inventory, but the second I landed at TDR I saw the Baiastice_Lesley-White Xmas dress and knew that was IT. Only adjustment I made was to place the bow at the base of the long back scoop rather than its original poition on the neckline/front. This made it easier to wear the Platinum Spyraea Necklace & Earrings by Sue Stonebender. [NA]

I'm wearing the Gala Medium Gray skin I got in May 2007. It's also no longer available, but early Galas are to be treasured still. My hair elikatira's Rumor in White05 and Stiletto Moody Pinup Heels in Grey Patent Python thus completing SILVER. I'm pretty sure my poses are from /GEEZ/ [R]

SySy *sigh*

For my money SySy is one of the grid's underrated creators. Her dresses are always smooth to the touch with a nice mix of elegant and minxy:)


First up is NOELLE, which I am wearing in Green. It's a lovely system skirt with a wider prim skirt at the bottom. The bodice is "held up" by thin straps that are nicely detailed.


Next is LuLu which was a holiday gift in red. The modest row of small buttons leads down to a deliciously poofy skirt.

In both shots I am wearing a past TDR hair from BOON, Donna Flora earrings, the Taylor skin from Adam n Eve, Maitreya Gold IXkin in Pearl. On my wrist is the new Sorella cuff from :: MOOD ::

52 Green (which it's easy to be!)

Unlike Kermit, as a SL redhead, "being green" is easy for me. Doing a search on "green" would bring up half my inventory. So, for this 52 Challenge I actually bought something new. Well Neferia Abel made it easy [there's a theme here...] by putting her new dress, Joanie, which just happened to come in green, on sale that week! The velvet texture as well as the butterfly belt, little butterflies on the sleeve and the beautifully fitted blouse make for a perfect green. My earrting are actually shamrocks from GANKED, but they looked enough like butterflies to get the nod.
