Canimal Carnival

OK, yet again, my outfit started with the shoes...lol. I had seen Canimals Cherry Darlings on one of the feeds a while back and to be honest had been avoiding going over to Canimal. You see, Canimal is one of those shops I class as lethal and as such avoid so that I don't bankrupt myself...lol. I will buy something everytime I visit. Anyway I popped over because those shoes haunted me. They are mule wedges with a pretty cherry pattern and a plain black heel. A must have.

Then I wandered around the shop, like you do...lol...thinking 'I bet there is a dress to go with these somewhere here.' It was then that I discovered the Nox dress in red. It has a black corset with a red and black striped 'bra'. The flexi skirt is the same stripes but had a lace under layer that shows beneath the upper skirt layer. Beautifully designed and textured.

I immediately knew which skin and hair I wanted to wear with it....Fleur Allure Truffle Biba 1 and BP*big bomb hair1. The Biba make up is striking with heavy, smokey lids and red lips...in one of Fleurs paler tones it was the dramatic look I was after. BP's hair finished off the drama to give that side show feel to the whole ensemble. However, there was still something missing.....so I rummaged through my stockings and came out with LBD AmourStockings in red. To top it all off I added Caroline..Low Prim Black Bands Choker...icing on the cake...lol.

Now I had the perfect excuse to go do that shoot at the Carnival of Doom...lol

Getting Pixeled!

When I was a relatively new avi a good friend of mine took me to the old PixelDolls store in Chartreuse. At the time I wasn't particularly style savvy, and didn't like much of what I saw. Then I discovered the Port Seraphine store just before the big sale there. And at that sale I helped myself to a lot of PixelDolls history.

On the left of the collage is Starcrossed in red. It is no longer available, but I am posting it to show that the PixelDolls style is more consistent than it might seem. I love the Japanese obi feel of the midriff with its dark gray wrappings. It's a "go-to" dress if I'm going dancing on a Friday night:)

In the middle is a new PixelDolls dress, Bonney in citron. I liked contrasting the dark lace corset with the demure pose ;) On the far right is Marzipan in aqua. The flexi skirts for both Bonney and Marzipan have a similar look and feel although the detail is quite different and the Marzipan shirt dips longer in the back. Both skirts needed adjusting on my smaller avi, but the prim sleeves for Marzipan were perfect the moment I popped them on.

I still don't like all of what PixelDolls has to offer as it doesn't suit my personality, but I'm loving these two :)

The shoes are Elika's new Heel Strap Platforms in black. At L$ 175 they would be a bargain, but, given the fine workmanship, these are a steal. No they are not Maitreya or Schmooz or whomever, but I'd love these even if I didn't work for ETD. I think my stockings on the left are Canimal Zephyr's Week of Love Fishnets. My hair in all three shots is the new ETD Aiiyanna in auburn burnt. The skin is Fleur Lustrous 2 in buff. [Somehow I got Marni off my pixels, but it wasn't easy -- she'll be back soon LOL]

I also have to mention that my new eyelashes are from Cake, the Bedroom ones. I was getting frustrated with my old ones so asked on Fashion Emergency for soft, full and not uneven. The miracle is that. not only are they perfect, they FIT perfectly from the get go. What a lovely surprise:)

Ssshhhhh ... it's SSH

Simone Stern has been tantalizing her group members with whiffs of things to come. And yesterday we were allowed in to see what SSH stands for. And it is ... Style Starts Here. It's a wonderful build full of quality casual Simone designs for both men and women. Especially of note is the lingerie for the ladies AND most of the items are priced at L$ 100 or lower. There is also plenty for the guy in your SL at the same prices. Here's the slurl: Style Starts Here

My first two purchases were the SSH White Crossover Knot Top and the SSH - Inked Jeans [the pattern is a tribal one...], both of which were L$ 100 each. I've taken the pictures in front of one of my photos of the parkland at Chateau Chenonceau in France.

Hair is ETD AJ in Strawberry, the choker is a freebie from Canimal and the shoes are the Elana Sandals (silver - taupe) from Shoes Simply Shoes on sale for half price. The skin is Celestial Studios Fall-3 in champagne

Thank you Simone!
