Sweet, sweet Sweetaholic

OK, so I buy what takes my fancy...lol. When I saw this outfit on Grady Echegaray's Strange Pixels I fell in lust with it. Over I went to Sweetaholic only to find another lethal shop and Shinran in three different varieties....decisions, decisions! I opted for Shinran 2.0 as the pink/purples are not what I would normally wear and what a delight it is. The colours are dramatic, the textures so beautiful you want to touch them and the whole feel of the outfit makes you regal. Included pieces are a rose hair accessory, fans, Obi, typing particles and shoes. It was fun to wear and I cant wait for the right occassion.

Styling:

Shape: Custom, FuriousDesigns

Skin: Frick, Peaches, Sailors Delight (Lolly)

Hair: H2L, Aya in black

Eyes: Miriel, Arctic Ocean (Big)

Outfit: Sweetaholic, Shinran 2.0

Eyelashes: Cake, Seperated Lashes

Cajsa's "Dress Me Up" Challenge reaches the Zenith!

Cajsa Lilliehook challenged me as follows: "I thought I might suggest something neko from Zenith, with some Betty Page Voyager hair." Hm there's a theme here. Two of my four challenges wanted to see Sam neko/grunge. Folks I'm not really that square :) In fact the ears and tail came from my inventory.

So off I trotted to Zenith where I found The Black Sexy Cloths set. The multiple pieces fit nicely, but I had to kill the bling coming from the ribbons. There I do draw the line. The tattoo is also from Zenith, their butterfly one. I have to admit I'd taken the photos wearing the Lxei Nyanotech hair from Curious Kitties [also in my inventory] before I remembered that she had said Betty Page Voyager. So I dutifully trotted off, but couldn't find anything that I liked as well as the Lxei for the style. So here's my response to your challenge Cajsa :)

My skin is Fleur Allure Biba 1 in Truffle. My torn fishnet stockings and fishnet gloves are from *Sheer*. My boots are the New York ones from Digital Dragon. My ears are *Kyu-To Neko Ears Black and tail is Mikon Neko Tail - Black, all from Dirty Lynx.

In League with Momo

OK…so…I feel myself becoming a blog monster…lol

I admit...I follow the fashion feed and yesterday, when I saw the League outfit (sorry can’t remember who blogged it) I knew I had to have it. League are one of my, what I call, lethal stores…lol. I avoid because I always buy but I love them so much that I never quite avoid enough.

Woolstrapped by League has the whole shebang…all layers, 2 skirts, legwarmers and boots. The knit texture is to die for…I just want to bury my hands in it. The design is genius, just enough tears to be sexy but not enough to make it look a mess. I love it and makes me feel all cosy on these cold Winter days in RL.

Styling:
Shape: Custom, FuriousDesigns
Skin: MM-Pale SkinGloss-Messy
Hair: ETD, Celia in white
Eyes: Miriel, Platinum (Big)
Outfit: League WoolStrapped.
Eyelashes: Cake, separated eyelashes.

This extra is Sams dress me up request…little did I know that when she said "Momo. With hair from a Japanese sim. Have fun!" that it would be my worst nightmare…lol. Now, I own a Momo piece but had forgotten what it sold as a clothes retailer. So over I hopped and, even though the clothes are well made and of quality, found that they are so not me. Pink, froofroo and girly…aggghhhh!

I spent a good amount of time choosing an outfit, which I like actually, but to Sams dismay no skulls or watermelons…hahaha. It does have pink in it though. She then added I should get shoes from G-Field…hmmm, .interesting selection. I purchased the Lady Rose shoes and moved onto the hair. Earlier in the week I had gotten demos from H2L and decided that the updo, Aya, would be just right for this challenge.

So…as you can see…my look is pink(ish) and very girly…think I look cute!

Styling:
Shape: Custom, FuriousDesigns
Skin: Fleur Dai Ni Ban Azalea Shoujo 3.
Hair: H2L, Aya in black
Eyes: Miriel, Platinum (Big)
Outfit: Momo, Ducket dress in black & pink
Shoes: G-Field, Lady Rose shoes in white, tinted pink
Eyelashes: Cake, separated eyelashes

Pipped to the Post!

First I would like to thank Sam and Noena for letting me join them in their blog…I will try to keep your high standards…no promises though :) I intend to blog both old and new pieces…my inventory is bursting at the seams so it is a good excuse to air some of it. I am no guru at this, I buy what I like so you will be seeing, I suppose, my style. I will try to match everything as much as possible and, to be honest, I will be wearing a Fleur skin 90+% of the time, unless they don’t match or I feel it needs something a bit different.

Second, my title ‘Pipped to the Post!’. It appears that Elysium Eilde of Photographing SL beat me to blogging this outfit with a wonderful review. However, I am nothing but stubborn so I am going to blog it anyway as my first offering, with a difference…no cheg flashing lol.

I have had this RunoRuno outfit in my inventory for the past week or so, thinking ‘Love it! But where can I wear it?’. This dress or should I say 6 dresses are a bargain…you get 3 black and 3 white in Cocktail, Evening and Dinner lengths. It is called Undress and, if worn purely, is not for the faint hearted. It is a bare breasting experience. Having said that I wanted to make it wearable in public…so a little tweaking and stretching of the chest attachments allowed me to be decent…this dress was not made for the well endowed avatar…lol.

The detailing is stunning, from textures to buckles and with so many layers you can mix and match tops and skirts…fabulous! I chose to wear the top from Undress Dinner with the skirt from Undress Evening. The overall look I would call Edgy Couture.

Styling :

Shape: Custom, FuriousDesigns
Skin: Fleur Allure Biba 1 in Alabaster
Hair: ETD, Laine in Black, with tint scripted black headband
Eyes: Miriel, Platinum (Big)
Outfit: RunoRuno/Burnt Rice, Undress in Black
Shoes: Maitreya, Verve Black 2
Eyelashes: Cake, separated lashes

Now we are 3!

Fury has accepted our invitation to blog with Noena and myself. Hence the new blog name "The 3 Fashionteers" and the motto "All for Fashion, Fashion for All" [Thanks Noena:)]

Fury is my SL friend of longest standing. I met her in my second month here. I've watched her develop as a photographer over time as she has helped get me out of my noobie hair, skin and clothes. So, with Noena we now have two fabulous photographers and 3 fashionteers. We hope you enjoy the ride!

FYI: Noena and I work at ETD, which is where I met her. All 3 of us work for Fleur Skins. We blog honestly, but an avi has to have some favorites ;)

It's a Touch of Dutch Challenge from Ana Lutetia

As part of Achariya's Dress Me Up Challenge Ana Lutetia suggested the following: "hmmm... what about Dutch Touch for a grunge look?"

Well I actually do have some Dutch Touch in my inventory, but not the real grunge stuff so I played fair and bought the Pippi outfit.

I remember seeing this on a friend during my first year on SL and wondered why anyone would wear something with holes in it LOL. I seem to have overcome my aversion here... The textures on the top are very nicely done and the cuffs on the pants are equally excellent. I had trouble finding the right boots in my inventory and ended up wearing my old standby, ETD Calf Boots in black.

I meant to wear a Dutch Touch skin, but I've been having trouble getting the new Fleur Allure Biba off my pixels. This is Biba 1 in Truffle. Hair is ETD Lisa in auburn burnt. Necklace is the Lovely Sorrow one from Curious Kitties.

So thanks to Ana Lutetia for getting me to go "holey."

Happy Holidays to You All!

Thanks for making my time in SL (tm) interesting, rewarding and [sometimes] frustrating!

May 2009 bring us a stable grid and newness from all our favorite creators :)

It's a "Sick" Challenge from Dot Lane :)

Dot Lane said:

Hmmm...I see you in something Japanese...maybe one of the Yugao dresses from Plus Nine paired with one of the Fleur Biba skins, ankle boots, and zero style hair. I'd also like to see what you could do with the "Sick" dress from Yome Shoujo with a Fleur Vivant Pin-Ups skin...

OK Dot, here we go :)

I started with Plus Nine's Yugao Long Skirt Set (Cassis) because I loved the colors. It came with some serious shoulder fur, but that conflicted with my Zero Style hair [Dana in Black Cherry-I feel like a Black Forest Cake LOL] so it got left off. I LOVE the hem flounces, but in action they don't fit well as you move. With those and the system skirt I had trouble finding poses that didn't screw up one or both.

As requested, my skin is Fleur's new Allure Biba 3 in Truffle. The Kristin Booties are from ETD, but I couldn't decide whether to wear plum or teal so I wore one of each!

Sick you say? There are two Sick dresses by Yome Shoujo, neither of which look that way. I bought both, but ended up using the lighter of the two. The dress has layered flounces and puffy sleeves, but the pièce de résistance is the stuffed heart necklace. Normally I wouldn't wear a pillow on my chest, but this funny face grew on me during the shoot.

The skin is the requested Fleur Vivant Pin-up 2 in Blush. My clunky shoes are from the Bare Rose, It's Only a Paper Moon costume. Hair is Zero Style's Hays in Golden Wheat. [Yup, it's the demo LOL] I wanted something pig or ponytailed and this did the trick on a day when Phil's Place was no cooperating.

I had fun with your challenge Dot --thanks <3

Achariya's "Dress Me" Challenge from Achayria herself :)

Achariya said:

Oh I know! I'd like to see you in one of Zaara's sari's, and accessories to match. So here you go!

I LOVE Zaara Kohime's work so this was no problem. But I after looking at a gorgeous sari for a lot of lindens, I opted for Red Riot, an older [and still gorgeous] one available in her discount room. The bracelets are Zaara's beautiful Suvarna ones, but the rest of the jewelry is Yak & Yeti's free Bollywood set in tourmaline. I copied and edited the forehead piece to serve as a belly jewel LOL. Hair is ETD's L$1 Lily style in Carmel Burnt. The skin is Fleur Parfait Deux 1 in Strawberry.

Thanks for the excuse to go Bollywood Achariya!

Late to the Party:) Dress Me Up Challenge!

I was out of town and missed the challenge from Achariya so here goes.

Please dress me up? [Picture is by my longest time SL friend, Fury Stapleton] It's cold where I live and I'm going to freeze if you don't LOL

The Stringer Mausoleum + Biba = Stunning!

Working at ETD and Fleur has its advantages, one of which is meeting avis who are wonderful content creators. This is the case with Fleur Insider, Helena Stringer, owner and creative impulse of The Stringer Mausoleum.

She was kind enough to drop her style, Wrapped, on me as an early holiday pressie and, while I normally don't wear hair that is almost as big as I am, this one is a honey :) I'm wearing it in crimson tipped with the included hairbow and snowflakes. Top is the Lookr "Naughty".

Skin is the about-to-be-released Fleur Allure Biba 1 in Truffle. Biba has transitioned gracefully from Vivant to Allure. The new Allure skin tones and body detailing make Biba work for me in way she never did as a Vivant makeup.

So after Helena dropped Wrapped on me I wandered over and ended up getting the Stargazer Eyelashes in the Colour Pack. They are seasonally outrageous LOL. You get 6 colo[u]rs for L$150 -- be sure to click on the picture to see how wonderful these are :) The skin is Fleur Allure Winter Nights 3. Hair is ETD's Luth in auburn burnt.

Thursday, December 18, 2008

I go away for 2 weeks and ... miss a lot ;)

I come back to not only the glorious new Allure Winter Nights skins from CJ and Roslin, but a sweet new outfit called Fair Isle. And I missed the Secret Sale:( But seriously, thanks to Fury for taking over in my absence! I may take another vacation!

Here's my blog for before I knew the sale was over *cries* -- so instead of wearing Winter Nights, I'm wearing the formerly-on-sale Shoujo 6 in the just-right-for-me new skintone of Azelea.

But the big news is the Fair Isle outfit from Fleur with plenty of options for layering. Take a good look at the beautiful silver clasps in the middle photo, as well as the faultlessly designed sweater underneath. I even went out and bought the Shiny Things Plainers in cherry to complete the look, knee socks and all! In the right hand photo I paired the dress top with the L$1 ETD Cords in Moss to show the versatility of this new outfit.

Hair is ETD's Luth in auburn burnt. Jewelry is from (luc) and Caroline Jewelry.

Ibizarre + Muism = Cozy Winter Outfit

I wanted to wear the Muism open cotton shirt with it's prim cuffs, but what to wear over it? My good friend, Fury Stapleton, asked if I had seen Ibizarre's "vests". I had gotten stuck at the other end of that wall mesmerized by the scarves and hadn't. So off I went. This is the Ibizarre Knit Pattern Tank in black. Look carefully to see the subtle pattern. My slacks are also from Ibizarre -- their soft black leather ones.

I am also wearing ETD's Luth in auburn burnt, (luc) Fashion Jewelry's Celest set with the metal set to black, and the Retrohoochie Pump in Black. I'm pretty sure my skin is Fleur Allure Lounge 2 in cinnamon.

Honesty is the Best Policy

I had a struggle about what to title this post. The other option was "Sam Goes to Muism and FINALLY Buys something," but the reason for the title will come clear shortly.

I was talking to Grazia Horwitz about how I didn't "get" Muism and would she take me over sometime and help me see the light. Well impatient avi that I am, I couldn't wait. I had some lindens burning a hole in my pxel pockets so off I went. I bought the Open Cotton Shirt and the Tartan Jacket, which I then paired with the old G.L.A.M. buttoned pants in gray and the Autumn scarf from Ibizarre. [OK so now I'm a scarf slut too--so sue me ;)] Hair is the new Prissy in Dark Copper, skin is Fleur Allure Lounge 3 in Cinnamon, shoes are DeLa's Stella in Beige.

Now for the honesty part. The scarf sticks out the back of the shirt's prim collar, so you either need to move the scarf waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay forward or wear, as I did, hair that covers it in the back. The scarf itself is no-mod so that's the only option. On the other hand it's a great look. Maybe I can talk Anyusha into making us some half scarves ;)

Soooooooooo... here's another set of shots without the collar and with the DeLa shoes in Sweet Chocolate. I am also wearing one of Curious Kitties Nyanotech hairstyles. These styles come with a HUD for changing color, although Neko 1, this red, is my favorite. The style is called Lxei.

Black is the new ..... Black

I'm beginning to think Grazia Horwitz and I are twins separated at birth as she just blogged some nice black dresses. If I hadn't been so sodding lazy I would have been first LOL

Below is another of the very creative dresses designed by ~*RunoRuno*~ named Hyperkinetic Dress in Black. Her work is so imaginative and very reasonably priced. This one is no exception. The textures and prim shapes are wonderful and it does move nicely! I'm wearing ETD's Tiana in auburn burnt, Fleur's Allure Lounge 2, in Truffle I think and the earrings from (luc) Fashion Jewelry's Celest set. Booties are the Kristen ones, on sale at ETD until December 26 for very little indeed along with the rest of the store.

Second I am wearing a nicely designed dress from Ibizarre named Edina. Be sure to check Ibizarre out as Anyusha Lillenthal has some wonderful new items, including some of the scarves I blogged yesterday. I like the black on gray of the large cowl collar and the waist area. It is a very chic look for a night on the town. Skin and earrings are the same as above, although the skintone may be cinnamon. The hair is Luth from ETD, which I just discovered while helping a customer at the store. It's in auburn burnt. Shoes are Maitreya's Mishima Dawn in Shiny/Suede black, a color unfortunately discontinued :(

My third "little black dress" is also from Ibizarre and is one of Anyusha Lilienthal's new releases for A Winter Fairy Tale beginning next month. It is called Paloma and I'm wearing it in "almost black," that is to say, Charcoal. The gold details and textures, including the belt are very well done. Jewelry is the Celest set again. I'm wearing the same skin and Luth in Sunny. Shoes are Maitreya's Free Black Slinky Stilettos in black.

So a few non-standard, but very wearable "little black dresses", thus making black ... well you get the idea ;)

Scarves are the new ... um new something LOL

I just realized that I've been writing this blog for over a year and have actually done over 100 posts. Doesn't seem like that long or that much, except when inspiration doesn't strike. In this case I *am* going back to an earlier post found here. Please no laughing-that was my old graphics card.

Scarves have been running wild over the grid and, with the idea that two necks are better than one, I asked my good friend, Jaydie Sapeur, if she would join me in this post. Since I'm the one that gave her her first Ibizarre scarf I guess saying no was not an option ;)

I'm not exactly sure how I found the Ibizarre scarves. I think I was just checking out the store after having quickly bought the Norway Sweater earlier. Anyway once I saw the Bandanna Scarves at L$50 each and that they were TRANSFER, I bought a fistful to give to friends, among whom Jaydie was one of the first. The she went back and "scarfed" up a few more. Here's what she's wearing:

In the middle photo:
Hair: ETD's Maaliyah
Skin: Adam n Eve - Angel Skin
Scarf: Ibizarre
Pants: Launa Fauna
Eyes: EarthStones - Moldavite
Lashes: Minnu
Jewelry: EarthStones

In the two outside photos:
ETD's Ginny
Skin: Adam n Eve - Angel Skin
Dress: First Impressions
Belt: Ivalde
Lashes: PanJen
Jewelry: EarthStones

Thanks so much, Jaydie, for taking the pictures for us :)

I am wearing an assortment of scarves. On the left Zaara's Kashmiri scarf in maroon. In the center smaller photos I am wearing some of my Ibizarre loot ... erm SCARVES and on the right I'm wearing Creamshop's linen stole in red. Tops are from Mojo, cigarette pants from Joanie by Michami, shoes are the free black Slinky Stilettos from Maitreya. Skin is Allure 2 in cinnamon from Fleur, earrings are from the (luc) Poisedon set.

I guess we are both ready to brave the cold!

Stella Redux

I just could resist another "take" on Michami's new Stella. I found the perfect shade in the Sn@tch scarf that changes textures, as well as in the Kitties Lair Anita shoes in brown. Switched to Tyra in Crimson. The rest remains the same :)

The Stella Challenge: The Case of the Missing Middle

I too, like Grazia, wondered about the "missing middle" in Michima's Stella and, I have to admit, I took the same route she did, tucking one of Milla's Gold Glam Tanks underneath the Stella in Beige.

I normally eschew prim cuffs as they tend to overload my small avi, but these just needed to be slid up slightly. What I am admiring more and more about the beauties coming from Michami is Milla's skill with system layers. The detail on the Stella jacket is outstanding, making you as well dressed from the back as well as the front.

I'm also wearing ETD's Tyra in Platinum Burnt, Lyra Muse's Eclectic in Larkspur and The Tease Peep Toe Pumps in Snake from Kitties Lair. My skin is Fleur ALLURE, of course. It is Lounge 3 in Truffle and I'm having a hard time getting it off my pixels.

So thanks again Grazia! I hope my "mash-up" pleases you all :)

An Ibizarre Winter!

A friend reminded me that Ibizarre had some new goodies, so off I went:) Didn't get any dresses, but left with this gorgeous and authentic Norway sweater. Every part of it is well done, from the zipper to the turtleneck prim that curves just right for a snuggly fit.

I'm wearing the Ibizarre Basic Pants in Black that I got at the earlier sale and the Mishima Dawn Black suede/patent leather shoe-boots. Hair is ETD Tyra in Cinnamon Burnt, earrings are the new ones from (luc) from the Poseidon set. Skin is, of course, Fleur Allure, specifically Allure Lounge 2 in Cinnamon.

Now I'm ready for how the weather has turned where I live thanks to these wonderful content creators.

As one says in Norway -- Tussen Tak!

Happy Kani Halloween!

I danced at Club Cutlass last night, the human friendly, furry club on Sunweaver Air. The theme was 'toon characters, but, being in a hurry, the best I could do was a quick Kani Halloween! Who says bunnies are only for Easter?

My avi is one of Uchi Desmoulins beautiful Kani Bunnies -- this one in Mocha. I adore the pinkish inner ear :) I am wearing a Halloween special from Hexed called Envy. It may or may not be last years. The necklace is recolored from the Cachet Christal set.

My hair *is* this years from the Grid-Wide Halloween hunt. I'm a crappy hunter [I'm a bunneh!], but I did manage to acquire this amazing hair from IROLLIC. We need another pumpkin holiday so I can wear this more often *grins*. What is obvious is that not all hairstyles fit around Kani ears ;) But who cares -- it's pixels and it's a Happy Kani Halloween :)

From Top to Toe:)

I have to admit that I'm a copycat here:) After I saw the (luc) Rebirth poster on the feed and knew I NEEDED it, I was also hunting down the camisole Grazia was wearing in the ad. As luck would have it, it was part of Celestial Studio's Phoenix Sweater Dress. Which I then bought in two colors because it was so wonderful. I'm wearing the Thistle.

Now how many ways do I love this dress? Many!! The cami *is* superbly lacey, but don't miss the wonderful textures on the dress itself, with the ribbed edge and the delightful double row of little buttons, plus a prim belt that is amazing and helps to mask the connection between the top and the system skirt. Yes -- system skirt. Thank you Starley for not saddling us with one of those mini-skirt prims. This is a delight! Oh and then there are the lace-edged leggings. This is just about perfection in pixel-wear.

My shoes are Elika's new Kristin Booties in Plum. The softness of the textures and the yummy bow on the side make these booties very wearable indeed!

But of course not forgetting where this all started -- with the new (luc) set, Rebirth. I got it in Turquoise, which reminds me of the Navajo Blossom design, but with the added benefit of a metal change script. I'm showing you both the black and the silver.

While looking for hair that wouldn't cover the eyes on my new Allure Smokin' 2 skin from Fleur, I rediscovered ETD's Tyra in my inventory, which I am wearing in Cinnamon Burnt. The skin shade is Truffle. Between this makeup and Lounge 2 I may never need another skin. What pleases me so much is that, in providing us with more detail and contrast in Allure, Fleur has not lost sight of the perfection that is their hallmark.

So thanks to (luc) and Grazia for getting me started and the Celestial for keeping me going!

Launching in Style!

I was going to wear Nicky Ree's beautiful Mooie Vogel to the launch of Fleur's new skin line, Allure, but when my ARC came in at over 7,900 I opted for the pants version of Nicky Ree's Brenda in pink. I figured that I shouldn't be the one to lag the sim LOL

Anyway this is one of my first Nicky Ree full outfits that I purchased and I am happy as could be that I could press it into service for the event. My shoes are even older, the *Essential* Stiletto in Rosy Brown from Prim Seduction. And they seem "made" for the outfit. I'm wearing sachi Vixen's Bad Hair Day in ... erm I'll have to check [insert embarrassed face here] and Lucas Lameth's Butterfly Frolic in Gold.

All of this was to show off the new Allure skin I am wearing. In Allure I normally wear Truffle, but somehow Ivory slipped on my pixels and stayed. The makeup is Exotique 3.

I'm sorry I've taken so long between posts, but I have been busy helping many of you find your perfect "Allure." Don't be shy -- I'm happy to help!

It's Allure-ing . . .

The new skin by Fleur -- yes I work there, but I'd be in lust even if I didn't :) We've been waiting for this release and now it's here!

Come see the new glam and luxe skin line starting at 12 noon SLT. Demos are free AND transferable!

It's All New !

And, to borrow Camie Cooper's store name briefly -- "It's All Good!"

First and foremost I am wearing a preview copy of the NEW Allure skin line from Fleur, specifically, Exotique 3 in Truffle. The fashion feeds have been full of wonderful reviews and I've been too busy with the impending launch on Sunday at 12 noon SLT to post myself. BUT it IS all good. Delicious shading, scrumptious makeups and new skin tones to melt your pixels. I am so happy and proud for Roslin & CJ -- Allure was worth the wait!

I am also wearing a new release from (luc) Fashion Jewelry [formerly Earthtones] called Athena--the beautiful crystals sparkle with a complex color range. (luc) had a wonderful opening last week, so be sure to check out the new build and the wonderful new sets. He also has new store cards available.

My hair is from ETD--YES Elika Newness :)))))) Can we say happy? How about ecstatic?? I'm wearing Tiana in Apricot Burnt and just plain loving it. The other new style, Yvette, is lovely too. My shoes are also ETD's Peep Slingbacks in Red.

Last, but not least, is the Japanese Dress from !WigWamBam. It is the prettiest, best made dress I have seen for L$100 on the grid.

So grab the newness available now and come to the Allure Launch on the Fleur sim at 12 noon SLT, tomorrow, Sunday, October 18!

Wowie in Kau'i!

Last evening there was a smashing party at Seven, Ultra Lounge to celebrate the re-branding of Lucas Lameth's Earthtones to the epynonomous (luc). I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend, along with a Who's Who of SL fashion. The DJ was duckyfresh Watanabe. I'd never been to Seven, and I must say I was impressed by the ambiance.

So what did this small avi wear? I did try for low ARC with middling success. In the end it was the boon 75 hair in Mat that did me in LOL. I wanted an outfit that would go well with the Silver Kau'i set I had bought at the closing sale for Earthtones, so, after an inventory rifle, I selected Shai Delacroix's Roche in gray with Alligator slacks in olive. Shoes are Zhao's Sadie, bought on sale. My skin is an old Gala "Gray" in Medium that is still available at the Alady store.

Be sure to visit the new (luc) store -- your old Earthtones LM will still get you there.

DelEmma's Seaglass Jewelry an Expo Must!

My ETD colleague, Emmanuelle LaFollette, dropped the new Seaglass Sets on me last week and I was too d**n busy to even look. So imagine my delight when I found their booth at the Jewelry Expo [Thanks again Miriel!] and there it was and I said hmmmmm ... I think I have that already. And lo and behold I did!

I'm wearing the Seaglass set in the Mediterranean colors. The others are Atlantic, Baffin Bay and North Sea. The colors and textures are marvelous, having the dull luster of actual seaglass. My photos don't show the wonderful way the necklace lies on the neck. There are two bracelets, once of which is visible at the far left. It's a lovely additional to my wardrobe. Thanks Emm and Del :)

I'm wearing ETD Shari in Auburn Burnt. I modified the barrettes to complement the jewelry. My top is one of the Cashmere Sweaters from Sn@tch in Aqua. Skin is one of the Fleur Boutique Parfait Deux in Strawberry.

What's a Girl to Do?

When Elika isn't making new hair ...

What I have been doing [and have also been recommending to our regular customers at ETD] is to try on demos for styles you never looked at before. This way I have discovered Madeleine, Mary, Tessa and Vanessa I among others. And sometimes a customer's request leads me to a style new to my pixels. Such was the case with Chalisa II, which I am wearing in these photos.

The color is Copper Burnt. It is a non-flexi pony tail that I am finding a pleasure to wear. I am also showing of one of the soon-to-retire Vivant makeups from Fleur Skins. It is Freckle Face 1 in Buff. My top is the *Camie Cooper* Striped Sequin Tank in Red. I THINK the jeans are Iki's old ones that were at Pixel Dolls, but I'm not sure. Necklace and earrings are Bliensen + MaiTai's Agroglyphe in Gold.

But the point is Chalisa II!

(Kunglers - Couture) Volcana

This past Tuesday I was one of the models in the "Passions of Black Swan" show, directed by Timeless Modeling Agency. It's a great series of shows with lots of beautiful designs and outfits, and all this in the wonderfull setting of the Black Swan sim.

One of the dresses, shown during this latest show, was the (Kunglers - Couture) Passions of Black Swan - Volcana. I didn't model it myself, but I was fortunate to have it dropped on me. And as every fashion loving chicka, I adore being dropped gorgeous dresses! :-)

The Volcana was designed in the spirit of the Black Swan theme and became a very lush and luxorious long gown. It has a lovely feather texture and skirt, with a dramatic collar that is a real show stopper.
The necklace comes in two color versions and perfectly finishes the look.

It's the dress to wear for a glamorous night out, sipping champagne and strolling about on the arm of that handsome man. Or to steal the show as your single amazing self! :)

Hugs, Noena

Sweet butterflies

A few weeks ago, while I was checking out a new store, I got dropped a jewelry set. Too busy shopping *grins i'm a girl* I didn't look at it right away. And also, I'm pretty difficult when it comes to jewelry (ok ok, I've got an overall difficult taste :-), so I'm always sceptical when I'm dropped items.

This set was a happy surprise. It turned out to be a delicate butterfly jewel, by the hand of Caithlin Carter Designs.

The set has a nice range of different items, including two bracelets and a bellyring. Another clever detail is that the necklace comes in two version, one worn on the chest and the other on the spine. And above all that, it is scripted. You can resize, recolour, retexture and manage the bling.

So if you like to make it a sunny autumn, fly straight to CCD (Caithlin Carter Designs) for some sweet butterflies.

(Kunglers) Nadja

In RL a lot of clothing outfits go better with one bodyshape then the other. I for instance have broad shoulders in RL (did a lot of swimming when I was a teenager). When I came to SL and created my avatar, I gave her the same build (don't worry I gained some weight too since I was a teenager ;). So it's funny to see that my avatar looks good and bad in mostly the same outfits as the RL me. And when the Kungler sisters dropped me their latest design, I was reminded of that.

Their Nadja outfit contains a lovely feminine blouse, which I love (also in RL), but I just can't get it to work. When I put it on, it looks "wrong". So I turned to my sweet friend and blogging buddy Samara. And yes! She wears it very well!

So for this blog our own lovely Sam is my willing model. She perfected the outfit with lovely green *GF* Wood Wedge Sandals and ETD Nadia hair in apricot burnt.
We did skip the stockings that also come with the (Kunglers) Nadja, but we thought it to look younger without them.

Thank you very much dear Kungler sisters for yet another great design. And thank you Sam for your very fashionable smile.

Hugs to you all, Noena

Great Minds!

Both Jaydie Sapeur and I made a beeline for Adam & Eve when sachi put the new Jura dress out, only she had the brains to buy it in TWO colors LOL. So without further ado, here's Jura!

It's a lovely satin slinky little dress with incredible detail in the banding--almost like an Indian sari. And, per usual, sachi has provided more options that you can imagine:) As Jaydie said: "With Sachi adding the extra shirt, this outfit is so versatile, you can find 101 uses for this outfit"

I'm wearing Jura in blue with a & e's Grazia skin in sky t2 modded. Shoes are Starley in Cerulean by ETD. Not perfect, but was too lazy to search my mess of an inventory! Stocking are Vine pantyhose from Sheer. Necklace came with the new Nadja outfit from Kungler. ETD Hair is Patricia in apricot burnt.

As for Ms Jaydie, she is wearing the Jura dress in red and green. And rather nicely I should add :) Her shoes are A&E's Miranda in Moss and Red Flush. An Adam n Eve skin from the Diva Fall Collection in Primrose, jewelry from Earthstones and ETD's Fair hairstyle in Mahogany Burnt complete the lovely photos.

So you see -- two minds were better than one in this case! Thanks to Jaydie for letting me share her photos and to sachi, of course, for creating such a flattering dress for two different avis.

New at Persona/Jelly Tots Redux

Myllie Writer just goes from strength to strength. I remember picking up her first freebies-- I think she was in a mall in the Ivanova sim or some such. And she's never looked back. Now on her new island, she can stretch out and strut her stuff!

My first outfit is Persona's Dove in green, which I've blogged before, and VG Republic's men's jeans in Ivory Wash, but the point of the picture is the synergy between the Muted Jelly Tots and the Aoharu Bubble Pearl shoes in green. Bubbles, meet Tots :)

Hair is ETD Bonita II in apricot burnt. My skin is one of Fleur's Parfait Deuxs in strawberry.

One of the newest items from Persona is the Arabella top, which I am wearing in purple. The sculpty sleeves and collar are really well done. They fit on first wearing. And the flexi tie in back is a charming and well done accent. I am wearing the top with the Barb Plaid pants in charcoal, again without the prims, because they swallow me. My only complaint is that the trousers are not mod for tucking into boots. It's just a small thought:)

And yes I'm still wearing my Jelly Tots from Fresh Baked Goods as they tucked perfectly under the collar-well after a bit of fiddling LOL. [Pretty soon I'm going to be wearing only items made by wrongly accused creators.] Shoes are ETD Starley in Blurple. Skin is from SLink -- one of the special skins for her new release, the Isabelle. This is a special makeup that just seemed to go with the top and the tots. Hair is Bambi from Truth in apricot.

Jelly Tots Are Back!

And Sam has got 'em ;)

I'm not going to link to the really unfair saga of their disappearance and return. I'm just going to celebrate! Here's some Fresh Baked Goods Donuts all around:)

I'm wearing the Jelly Tots Necklace and Earrings in gold/muted, along with a Magika L$50. style called Betty in Red A and the turtleneck sweater from Très Blah's Mod Outfit. Skin is Fleur Vivant Basic Pink #2 in Buff.

Welcome home jellies :)

A Little of This and That :)

First, a big thank you to Sasy Scarborough for starting Second Life Bloggers of Fashion. It's nice to have a place to share our blog shots, especially since not all of us are on the main feed.

Second, a look I threw together after visiting the Tableau sim, which may still be in the throes of its festival to placate the angry gods. St Ingrid seems to be involved in some way :) I arrived wearing an outfit I'll blog later, but came across this Purple Western top at Nylon Outfitters.

Somehow I neglected to take a picture of the back, which has the same pretty yoke pattern as the front. One thing I REALLY like about this top is that the bottom ruffle is not a prim that you can't get right at any cost, but is on the skirt layer so doesn't get tossed around by your AO.

From top to bottom the rest of the outfit is:
Janis from Diversity Hair in Ginger Red
Rose #2 in buff from Fleur Skins
Diamond Bee necklace and diamond Bow earrings from Paper Couture
Men's Ivory Wash Jeans from VG Republic [I like the higher waist of men's jeans]
Hampton Wedges in Tyrian Purple from ETD

Third, just a word about my photos. I seldom use the atmospheric shaders in Windlight, but always the basic shaders. I sometimes up the brightness and contrast a little to get a touch of glow back in, but other than cropping and touching up a stray pixel here and there I don't photoshop. I will, on occasion, flip an image horizontally for compositional reasons, as I did with the left hand image in this post. I realize that can be confusing to those who look carefully, but with the time I have available to blog, sometimes it happens. I do use the Photosphere.

Gone Dancin'

I have a real backlog of photos to share, but the confluence of the RunRuno free Tube Dress, and my final giddy succumbing to the Red Metallic Tease High Heels from Kitties Lair took over my consciousness and the die was cast.

The Tube Dress is a seemingly casual tossing together of prims, but don't be deceived! After a small adjustment to the front prim, I found the dress mobile, flirty and elegant at the same time.

The stocking are Sheer's black pantyhose in the Vine pattern. The necklace is from Cachet, the pearls from the Christal outfit, which I colored to match the shoes. The outfit needed a bold, but simple necklace and this filled the bill.

Hair is Chelsea by Truth in Apricot [still on sale] and the skin is the Limited Edition Relay for Life, Emma from Fleur.

I hear music so I'm off!

Something Old, Something New :)

I'm just back from my niece's wedding, hence the post title.

The "old" is pretty wondrous actually -- It's a 2005 Pixel Dolls dress that I found at a resale shop. Called Josette, the details on the system skirt are really nice. It's obviously early Nephilaine Protagonist, but you can see a clear line of development from Josette to her current work.

As an hommage to MY early days, I'm wearing the Penguin Studios freebie shoes, called Diamond Heels, and still available at The Free Dove. My skin is Fleur Basic Pink #2 in Buff, hair is Truth's Ivy in Carrot. The simple gold and pearl jewelry is by Alienbear Gupte and Lyra Muse.

For the "something new" I ran over to Persona the moment she blogged her new Fall separates. I knew I wanted the Barb slacks in Dark Turquoise, but to be honest I have enough cowl neck sweaters to dress the grid, so I opted for the new Dove sweater in Green, beautifully trimmed in lace. I tried to show the lace at the wrists as well as the neck, so click on the photo to get the full-size image.

Skin is Fleur Dig Ophelia 1 in Buff. Shoes are Starley by ETD in Teal. Hair is new from Diversity, Janis in Tango and my necklace is Star feather from Dark Mouse.
