Baroque Bo Peep

I am a sucker for costumes, especially Baroque and especially open skirts. When I saw Likka House’s Marie I knew I had to have it.

It reminds me of a Baroque Little Bo Peep…minus the staff. The bodice is tight fitting and square necked. It has lace at the neckline and bows down the chest. The three quarter length sleeves have bows at the elbows and finish in wide lace and material frills. All the textures are detailed and the design beautiful. The colours a pure candy shop baby blue and pink, with the main bodice in pale grey. The skirt starts with a hip ‘pelmet’ of sweeping folds of material with flowers decorating it. The skirt itself falls to mid calf length and is shorter at the front. The lace of the skirt provides modesty at the front whilst adorning the hem of the rest of the skirt. The back sports a flower ‘bustle’ with a bow whose ribbon falls down the back of the skirt. Pretty and fun.

In the same folder are stockings with bows, shoes to match, a choker and beauty spots. All can be seen here except for the cheek spot. I arranged this attachment so only the lower beauty spot reason?

The reason being is the skin I chose to wear with this outfit. Fleur Vivant Buff Dig Ophelia 2 has a beauty spot in almost the same place and I wanted to wear this skin as it has a soft and pretty make up to match the outfit. Unfortunately this skin is only available via TaP Shepherd inworld as Fleur no longer exsists.

To finish the whole look I chose Curl Up & Dye hair, Antoinette – WHITE. I tinted the bows to match the dress details and I think the piled high, powdered wig look just completes the whole ensemble.

Now, where did those sheep go???

Mane of Rfyre

When I saw Helena Stringer's hair for the last Black Swan event I knew I had to have the Fire one for its amazing volume and coloration. But what to wear with it? Then I remembered a Rfyre sale item, Black Flame and the die was cast:) What I have added is a second copy of the skirt attached as wings to fill out the look.

She Sells Seashells

I was putting together this "look" around the Cloud Pattern skirt in Purple from So Many Styles, when Hibiscus Flossberg of Puarangi Designs announced that she had remade the men's shell choker for the ladies. I ran over and got it to finish the outfit.

With the SMS skirt I am wearing the Shimmer Tank in Pink from Cupcakes, lycra tights from the old G.L.A.M. dyed to match the skirt and a knitted shrug from The Kiwi Project, which I tinted slightly to warm it up a bit.

I'm wearing Truth's Grazia 2 in Copper and the Limited Edition Audrey Holiday skin from 5th & Oxford, available only at the Harajukubox Town Skin Faire for a few more days. It's a nicely sunburned skin with tan lines and a free bikini at a teeny price!

My shoes deserve a special mention -- they are the Samara heels from Adam n Eve in Coffee Bean. How lucky can I get to have such killer heels named for me :)

So thanks to all the creators, but especially Hibi for the necklace that provided the final element for my outfit.

Happy 4th Rezday to hyasynth Tiramisu!

T'was yesterday, but I was too busy dancing at her wonderful party. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! In celebration I'm presenting several of hya's most recent delights.

First up is the Lottie Suite in Sterling, which can be edited to any color your heart desires :) It can also be mixed and matched as above. On the right I'm wearing the ballgown without the shrug. On the left I'm wearing the shrug and top with the Pixel Dolls Comfort Skirt in black. The pictures don't do the detail justice.

On the right my hair is ETD's Aiiyanna in Auburn Burnt. The mask is a color change one from Illusions. On the left hair is ETD Aveda Short Bob in Sienna. Shoes are the hyasynths from Shiny Things. My skin in both pictures is from PXL Creations --probably CatEyes/Flamenco lips.

Next is Severina, named for Severina Dollinger, the makers of boots extraordinaire:) Again the textures are amazing, especially on the lace neckpiece and the lace cuffs. It comes with the lolly skirt and the open bustle tails. And hya recently added some wonderful colors to your choices. My boots are the old ETD Calf Boots, no longer available, alas :( Hair is Grazia2 from Truth in Cranberry I think... Skin is PXL Creations Kim in Natural.

Last, but not least, is a recent Lucky Chair prize -- bits and pieces from her Scraps & Gutter Glitter separates colored in the Gay Pride rainbow. I *think* I added a shirt from the Voltaire Suit. Shoes are Periquita's S-Steps in Red. My earrings and necklace are Alienbear's Pearl Teardrops in Black. Hair is ETD's Loraine 2 in Auburn. Skin is PXL's Kim I think.

I hope you can see both the quality and variety of hya's work. While her audience is predominantly Goth, don't ignore the total wearability of her styles, particularly for formal parties. Happy Rezday hya <3

New ~flirt~ Store & New Designer

Today at noon SLT marks the opening of the new ~flirt~ mainstore at Rigby sim. I was treated to a preview and it is gorgeous indeed! The build truly reflects the complex beauty of Skinkie Winkler's work. New releases are on the first floor, with older designs upstairs.

But the star of the occasion remains her beautiful jewels. I am wearing the earrings and necklace from the Full Circle Set in Emerald. It comes with many more pieces, so take this just as a hint. It is a redesign of her earlier Interactions series, taking into account both her skill and life development. Two other things to note, other than it's beauty, are the metal is color change and ~flirt~ is now using a new easy fit system for resizing when needed.

The dress I am wearing is from a new store, Sweet Antidote, showing the work of my fellow blogger and good friend, Noena Merlin. The Grand Opening is planned for the upcoming Festivale sim hunt, but I wanted to give you an idea of what you will find there. I am wearing Beech Leaf. I've had the pleasure of watching Noena work on her clothes and know what a perfectionist she is. The quality of her work is, hopefully, evident from the photos.

Yvette from Annyka Bekkers

Annyka Bekkers of *blowpop* fame has been teasing us on plurk with her new undies for what seems like forever. Yvette [shown above] was one of the first to make it inworld and her perfectionist streak is showing. Yvette is modest, a bit retro with detailed lace that just hugs your curves. What is also wonderful about her lingerie is that the colors are realistic undies colors, not just some wild colors made to shock. I'm wearing it in pink and loving it!

Shoes are the color change Precious in Silver from Zhao. The bows on the back go beautifully with lacy little things :) Hair is from Exile, Fastball in Eclipse, although I have tinted the light parts a muted red. Skin is PXL Creations for sure, possibly Kim with rose lips, but to be honest I am not sure :(

All that Glitters...

It started with the new LeLutka releases and a particular dress I was willing to purchase. It ended with a totally different dress…lol

The Maria dress in gold is pure Shirley Bassey. One shoulder strapped, sleek evening dress. It was love at first sight. A sculpty top and waist sash add cleverly to the design and style of this dress. Simple, elegant and stunning.

Then the hair dilemma, until I remembered the *X*plosion Kayli hair I bought not so long ago. This time I used the hair with diamonds littered in it. I also tinted the wide headband yellow then applied full shine to it…yeah…it turned gold before my eyes…lol.

The skin was also a dilemma. I tried quite a few on until I wore a [PXL] Grace skin. Perfect…such an elegant face without being over made up.

Shoes were easy…Detour Gold metallic pumps.

When I panned back I noticed the whole look lacked something...maybe a necklace…a choker even. I dived into my inventory and remembered Ryker Becks Czarina choker from her previous shop. Perfect.

Ms Bassey…watch out…there’s another diva about!

Christmas in July...

I had to explain this concept to a fellow blogger. But basically it's a chance to pretend it's cooler out than it is and that pressies are on the way :)

THIS Christmas in July was not only last Saturday's theme at Club Cutlass, but also the event that put my RFL team, the Passionate Redheads, over 2 million lindens raised to fund the cure for cancer. Go Redheads! Go Relay!

I'm wearing by favorite holiday dress, Confetti in Red from Simone. I bought it for my first inworld Holiday Season and bring it out when I heart the word "Christmas", even if it is in July. I'm wearing Deviant Kitties Wynter hair and *cough* lights. The reflections seem appropriate rather than a flaw given the theme. Skin is the Christmas one for [42] last year. Shoes are by House of Nyla. The Heirloom Locket is from Lucas Lameth.

I *almost* feel cooler:)

5th and Oxford Skin Preview

Roslin Petion and CJ Carnot will be opeing a totally new brand shop later today...5th & Oxford. Their first release will be a new skin range called Audrey. A range of rl inspired make ups in 3 skin tones...pale, medium and tanned.

In the second picture I show 5 different make ups from the Fresh, Smokey and Smolder range all in the medium toned skin. Left to right are...

Audrey Fresh 1
Audrey Fresh 5
Audrey Smokey 5
Audrey Smolder 1
Audrey Fresh 3

All the make ups are skillfully done, nicely blended in a fantastic range od colours...from muted naturals to diva night out and everything inbetween.

My current favourite is Fresh 1...which appears natural and, well,

The bodies live upto these creators names....the Audrey body is an improvement on the Fleur Allure body. The shading seems more confidently applied and the details better than ever. There is even texture on the!

When i photographed the body shots I keep the studio dark and the lights diffused...adding my own light in photoshop. This, and the smoothing of my shapes pixels, are the only post editing I have done. how beautiful the skin is in sl.

I cannot wait for 5th and Oxford to open later today...if you want to be there too then follow the landmark in Roslin Petitions picks.

See you there :)

Spanish summer

Hi hi! I've been quiet for a few weeks, first due to holidays, and then due to having to catch up with work after those days off... (Life is hard!) At least the holidays gave me a break from this cruel, hot weather, but now I'm right back into it, and it doesn't look like getting better for at least a month. As you will understand, with these temperatures we have in Spain, I'm not really looking forward to getting dressed, so I've been this close to doing a bikinis post (and maybe skins) but then Fury was faster... clever girl! So, I tried to put together something light, cool and summery, that I would very much wear to combat the Spanish summer in style.

The dress is the Silk organza dress from Armidi Gisaci - which I first saw on Autumn Hykova (owner of Tiny Bird) on her Flickr, and I instantly fell in love with it, so I did not hesitate to ask. Hers was in a darker plum colour, but the fabrics are so incredibly light that I thought a light shade would be the most appropriate choice here. So I picked immaculate white for the challenge to make it look non-bridal. With that purpose, I put the accent on non-discreet accessorizing, with bright colours that totally speak of summer - yellow and orange. The shoes are the Saturday flats from Shiny Things, in the shade so aptly called sun. The necklace is an oldie, the Han Hana Bead Necklace by Earthtones (now Luc), and the bangles and earrings are part of the Melange set by Zaara, in this case in yellow.

The hair you've seen me blog before, it's Sehra in cranberry by Truth, with the yellow flower - I just can't get enough of it, it goes well with pretty much everything and it totally screams of summer, plus the textures... (sighs) This man is a genius. The skin is also by a genius, and I think it's safe to say I'm madly in love with it - it's still Tuli's Hope in natural. But let me share something: today I made up my mind and went off to Journey to get myself the whole Hope fatpack. Concentrating this much love on just one skin can't be healthy, so I decided I have to share it with the whole 10 makeups!! (cuddles the pack)

The other items you see in the picture are the Miriel Vivid Hazel eyes and Glamour lashes (no longer available) and some of my 170 LAP poses. For further info and slurls, check here.

Hair Xplosion!

It started with *X*plosion hair Kayli. This wonderful, casual updo with a wide headband is just fantastic, I love it. From the too long fringe and wisps of hair to the huge bun at the back…the hair colour, texture and styling is brilliant. The headband comes with both a colour change and shininess menu…so clever…so it can be paired with virtually anything. Included in the folder are both small and big sizes of hair, modifiable, plus both sizes again but this time including jewels…to give even more variation on what you can wear with it.

So, the hair chosen…what to wear with it? I went through all the unsorted folders and clothes in my inventory and came across the MichaMi: Soraya Limited Edition Gift. This is a simple yet stunning green bikini. Thank you MichaMi for quality piece of free clothing.

Shoes (not seen) are ETD Peep Sling backs tinted green and the jewellery comes from (Caroline's) Natural Wood & Jade Set.

I spent the rest of my day dressed this way on my beach…lol.

PS. Fun shot here...

Sum - sum - SUMMERTIME!

It's my third "summer" in SL and time to bring out my favorite /artilleri/ dress, Carrie. It comes with and without a sash AND the underside of the skirt is bright red! Such a nice detail that is!

I'm wearing Antonia Marat's Heart of Love skin with it. It's one of my absolute favorites from that project. It's red lips, pink cheeks and tender eyeshadow just match Carrie nicely.

Other style notes: Hair is Truth's "freebie", Jess in Sahara. The two bobbypins and the flexi bits add up to a really fine look with the dress I think. Shoes are Vanessa in silver by Lyra Muse, no longer available alas, but perfect for a summery look. My necklace is Lucas Lameth's redo of his Heirloom Locket with color change crystals. In the locket is my later friend, Artistic Fimicoloud, the pink fox for whom I relay.

The *ICING* on the Cake!

One result of being unemployed and not able to spend my lindens so freely has the need to explore my inventory for forgotten gems. I saw the notice for the ICING sale and as I was searching for the landmark I came across Passion Flower, which I popped on as I *am* a "Passionate Redhead." So off I went to the sale, and, in my new thrift, only fell for one, Tradewinds, which I had admired for a while. One of the reasons the poses are sideways and the same side is that I wanted to show off the seashells in the Tiny Bird hair :) Also the backs of the dresses are as well done as the fronts. In both dresses Miko Omegamu's skill at shape and texture are evident.

Uncle Sam

Happy 4th of July to all my American friends.

I put this outfit together last year for a very dear friend of mine. However, he has never seen it as he always goes away for the holidays…lol.

So, I figured I’d blog it instead…lol.

I started with SFD uncle sam costume for females. It consists of a lovely tailored, navy waistcoat with a flash of white stars down the one side. The hotpants are the classic red and white vertical stripes with a navy, white starred belt. The belt has a solid looking USA silver buckle. All are system and come in many layers so you can wear however you want. The top hat is included , this is basically a red and white striped hat with an American flag tied as its hat band. It fits beautifully. Also included in the folder are matching boots but I decided not to use them.

Instead I used the Juicy Classic Pump - Stars And Stripes , which I am not sure are available anymore…so apologies if not. As you can see, beautifully crafted high heel pumps with navy with white starred heels and the front of the shoe are red and white stripes.

When choosing the physical attributes I went for the girl next door feel. The Fleur Allure Cinnamon Smudged 1 skin seemed to fit very nicely for that tanned, ‘no make-up’ look. Of course I had to have blonde hair and blue eyes…yes I know I stereotyped. I used ETD Sideswipe - Dirty Blonde and (Miriel) Eyes - Blue Opal (Big).

I kept the accessories simple…the TWEED heart necklace tinited red and a custom tattoo commissioned by me about 2 years ago.

I thoroughly enjoyed putting this together but I got ribbed by a Canadian friend for turning up like it to his Needless to say, it was Canada Day so I went and appeased him with a Canadian ..but that’s for another day.

Summer Time

I saw this dress on the fashion feed earlier this week and thought ‘Brilliant for Summer and the beach!*. So I teleported over to *Reale* and found the dress in four gorgeous colours. I stayed true to form and bought the red roses one. The bodice has flowered material over the chest and shoulders with a wide red, cummerbund like, waistband. At the neck is halter with a flexi tie at the back. The flexi skirt falls beautifully from the waist in the red roses material. The textures are shading are stunning. The whole dress gives a floaty, cool Summer feel.

To go with it I am wearing Fleur Kitten 1 skin n cinnamon. Taboo Paris ribbon shoes tinited red, Etd Marisela hair in black and Miriel eyes in platinum.

To round the look off I decided to wear a hair accessory *GF* Rose Hairpin –red-. This gives the outfit a slight Mediterranean feel to it.
