WooT! I found an unblogged image that just happens to be denim.
The denim outfit is in 3 parts from A La Folie and called respectively "jeans bleu clair court & Top" and "Tee Shirt crochet blanc."In the right two images I'm wearing Fleur's Sailor Pants in Black [NA] instead of the denim skirt. I am wearing a PXL Creations skin in all images.

Tangerine has also been lurking in my "to blog" folder, specifically the Prudence Cardigan from Mon Tissu. Here I've paired it with MichaMi bottoms, Dark Mouse jewels and Adam n Eve skins to produce 2 different looks. The primmy parts on the sweater work really well, in particular the retro padded shoulders. I'm wearing MichaMi's newish Suede Skirt in Brown, the Bohemian Flare Necklace and Bank's Closed Earrings from Dark Mouse as well as Adam n Eve's new Paige in Natural. [R] Candy Clogs in Copper from Shiny Things finish off the feet:) Hair is elikatira's Details in Red 05.


Here's an earlier image from about the time the Prudence Cardigan came out. In this case I'm wearing MichaMi's Laila pants in Black along with ETD's Heel Strap Platforms [NA]. My jewelry is again Dark Mouse's Obsidian, which also has a nice retro feel to it. Hair is from Amrita [NA] a style I found on Cajsa's blog eons ago. My skin is Adam n Eve Taylor in Natural.

A secret

Oh-my-god. I shopped. Not just a quick log-in-to-TP-to-TDR (The Dressing Room, I presume everyone knows it by now), buy what's being offered that I suspect I may like, log off and forget. Nope - last weekend I actually went to shops where all the items were made by the same creator and set at full price. How did that happen? It started as a fairly normal TDR routine, when I had to notice (everyone has, apparently) the amazing skirt by a guest store called The Secret Store. I have no idea how long they've been around, but they were new to me so I went to have a look at what they had to offer. They're on a sim called Cheesecake, so I decided there could be nothing bad. And oh boy, was I right. Almost as good as cheesecake.

Amongst the (many) items I bought, a dress in particular, called Pretty Poppy, caught my eye. I wasn't disappointed on unpacking: the textures and the sculpted primwork are just incredible; it comes with an accessory belt plus the chest ruffles in two attachment point options. If I had to find a fault with it, I guess it would be that the glitch pants only come in the underwear layer, which makes it kinda not-so-easy to find appropriate tights to wear it with. But hey, I managed.

After buying all those pretty clothes, I decided that it would only be fair to get new hair to go with them, so I paid a visit to my two old loves: Elikatira and Truth. [me sighs] How I love them, and how grateful I am that they have stores on the Marketplace, so I can avoid the infernal lag. With that excuse, I proceeded to try every single demo, and eventually settled on Elikatira's Mood (Red 08 being my colour) to go with the dress. I was tempted to buy a new skin too and went straight for Tuli's demos, but then I decided to give Belleza's group gift Erika a try - and it won my heart. There are two Erikas in the gift box at the store, I chose the one with turquoise eyeshadow for the pictures with the dress, but here's a closeup of my new face in the bare option. It's not for me to say it, but it's lovely, innit?


Since I was at it I tried to renew my eyes as well (Miriel's probably been closed for over a year now, it's time to move on) but, to be honest, I found nothing that convinced me. I picked both the Poetic Colors and the Amacci gifts, but if those are anything to go by, I'll pass. So, I'm back where I started. If anyone was a Miriel lover and has found a convincing substitute, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll just stick to the oldies and goodies. To round up the look, I added the Delphine pumps in gold by Shiny Things, another group gift, SBJ's gold necklace (FabFree gift) and Glow Studio's Lowicz thick wood branclet (TDR item). The tights are a prehistorical tintable pair, but still work for me. Poses are from Samara's photosphere, by various creators participating in the 2010 pose fair [hey, that's what Sam's poseball said!].

52 EMERALD + New from IVALDE

Granted this is on the darker side of Emerald, but the shoot I planned was a disaster, sooooo...

Instead I celebrate Neferia Abel's large new release for her couture line, L'Abel. I'm wearing the Tyra dress in "emerald." [R] The textures on this dress, from the delicate smocking around the waist to the longer underskirt is both elegant and well done. This is just one of the new releases. I'll show you more tomorrow.

So Good it Takes Two AAs

Swan Ling is the proprietor of Argyle Anonymous, hence the double AAs! She was brought to my attention by her RL sis, Elle Kirshner of Second Spaces, but the rest was love at first sight:) There is a limited number of items, each available in nicely retro-funky patterns. I tried to put together my own combination, but once I decided I wanted the Original Denim Skirt, such a flirty hem, I couldn't avoid the combination in her poster. Oh well. So much for MY originality. I selected the Button Shirt in Orange and the Cream Floral Tank.

New Sweater from Ivalde

I grabbed two of Ivalde's new Laida sweaters during the 24 hr 50% period, but it's a steal at the full price of L$80. The texture is both retro and sexy with the kind of detailing one expects from Ivalde. The best part is the primmy bit on the sweater at the bottom. I only had to move it down a little to have it work perfectly, even while moving. You'll need more than one of these!

52 Indigo Times 2

Fury is away most of this week so she's asked me to blog for both of us:) Now Indigo is tricky. I've always thought of it as a very dark blue-violet or equally dark blue-green, verging on what might be called "inky." An inventory search coughed up very little labeled "indigo." But we both had MichaMi's Tori dress in INDIGO. So we decided that was it!


In additional to the very wonderful MichaMi dress, Fury isn't wearing much else. But here's what she is wearing. [Maybe she'll teach me how to do shadows soon....]

Ah Sienna--a wonderful reddish-brown earthy tone for redheads. I'm happy :)

A search on sienna in my inventory didn't reveal much, but I managed by sneaking in a little more reddish brown. I started with an older Simone Cuddly Sweater in Sienna [NA]. My belt is also an older Shiny Things Pouch Belt in "Reddish." Looked like sienna to me ;) Hair is an old ETD Aveda style called Short-Crop in Sienna, alas [NA]. My trousers are from Last Call's Magdalena pants suit in Red [NA]. Boots are from Pixel Mode called Rhea, also in Red. I'm wearing an Infinity Skin aka *blowpop* -- Carmen in Raw Sienna. [NA]

IFW10 :: Blogger's Choice

I was fortunate enough to be selected to blog the International Fashion Week 2010, which opens at 1pm SLT, tomorrow, Thursday, July 15 and runs through Sunday, July 18. Don't try the link until then k? Patty Cortes and her staff have done a super job bringing together many of the best fashion forward designers on the grid. Today I'm sharing a couple of my choices, which the designers kindly made available to me.



First up is Summer Dress Bouquet from Shiki Design. The funny thing is I actually acquired this at The 2010 RFL Clothing Fair, but due to a renaming or some such, choose it again. I guess I must like it no? The textures are floral and summery the bodice is done in such a way that the connection between the prims skirt and the top are barely noticeable. Other than the inevitable alpha in a skirt of this design, this is a beauty:) I'm also wearing the new Candy skin from PXL Creations. I'm always a slow adopter, so I wasn't sure I could move from Kim to July to Candy. But each time I have, happily.After a period of time LOL Shoes are the exquisite Jane Wedges from Shiny Things. And jewelry is from the talented Lucas Lameth of (luc) Fashion Jewelry, bought when it was still Earthtones. Hair is from *eha, very cutting edge. See details below for um yeah DETAILS.

I first met Geryn Sloane of GS Couture at The Clothing Fair, where I made her give me the dress off her back! Thus I am VERY pleased to be blogging one of her dresses from IFW10. It's called Chocolate Covered Cherry and, aside from making me hungry, I love its retro look and use of the system skirt. Jewelry was hard to find, but I chose Luc's Butterfly Frolic to tie together the Sea makeup [again PXL's Candy]. The blue picks up that tint in the dress I think.I'm also wearing the *eha hair again as well as Stiletto Moody shoes. See below for the details.

Summer Shopping

Two of the best places for summer SL shopping are Artilleri and Whippet&Buck. With a bit of Humming thrown in. From left to right...

W&B Lizzy Cropped Boatneck in Coral. This one is a real teaser, Modest front then a tied peek-a-boo back. It comes in so many colors that you should just get the fatpack and be done with it. On the bottom are the Artilleri Johanna Denim Shorts. They are a bit high-waisted with the best rolled cuffs ever! Earrings are Whippet&Buck's Aemilia. Again in many colors. And yeah just get that fatpack LOL

Artilleri's Darla shirt in red, minus its red tie is paired with W&B's Georgie shorts in West Coast. Many beautiful colors. Don't make me say it again ;) Violet Voltaire Heart Container earrings and pink plaid flats from In Her Shoes complete the look.

Finally, those Artilleri shorts again with the CheckGauze Shirt from Humming and Shiny Things Zimmy Flats.

So get thee to a store and stock up for summer!

Jori Times Two

Today I'm blogging 2 items named for Jori Watler. If you know Jori, as I do, you know that it would be impossible for her energy and moxie to be contained in a single outfit, so here we go!




The first is a delightful cardigan, designed to mix and match with other 5th&Oxford goodies designed by the uber-talented Roslin Petion, but it mixes and matches nicely with the rest of your pixel wardrobe. I'm wearing it in with my favorite Narwhal pants in Egg Blue. Tucked underneath is the Simple Shimmer Tank in Lemon from *Cupcakes. Shoes are the Jane Wedges in Tan from Shiny Things. I'm wearing L.Fauna's Lapine skin in Pale 2. The makeup is the group gift one, Faberge. Hair is an old Truth called Lucy in whatever he was calling that color back then.



Jori, by MichaMi was made at Jori's request. It is a very simple dress, yet complexly constructed with the sculpty top and skirt. Several sizes of each are included and they are mod. The textures and interior shadows are very well done. The dress comes in a range of colors, both muted and bright, but for me the yellow is the prettiest :) I'm wearing it with ETD Heels Strap in Sunshine. [BTW ETD now seems to be closed]. Earrings are from Paper Couture and the hair is City Life in Red Spice from FuseMelon. I know the skin is PXL Creations, probably Kim in Natural with wine lips.

/GEEZ/ Does Jazz Dance!

I know other folks have blogged the /GEEZ/ Jazz Dance set, but I wanted to add my two bits. As a former dancer, these are very fine dance poses indeed.

Otherwise I'm wearing the MichaMi DSN gift of Carmela Bustier in Pink, along with the Second Wave Apparel Perfect Fit Capris in Pinkstripe and the Francoise Flats in Purple from Shiny Things.

But the attention should be on the joyous poses that capture so well the energy of jazz dance!

LoveLace, A Blog in Four Parts....One

I adore underwear…especially retro and/ or sexy. When I saw Lovelace were doing a 99L$ promotion I decided to get as many pieces as I could. Once there I realised there was also a sale on, how could I resist??


When I was deciding how to shoot all this wonderful lingerie I initally thought of the phone prop and poses from Glitterati, with the tag of 'Hanging on the Telephone'. However, when I saw Glitterati’s new Black Box I just had to have it and that it would be ideal for this shoot.

Supporting Content Creators

There are two ogranizations today that are supporting Content Creators through a boycott. While it did work with lettuce, I'm not convinced this is the way to go here.

For me, though, the best response to content theft, other than following the procedures in place, is to BUY. So I did. I went and bought hyasynth Tiramisu's newest goody, Gloomy in blue today. Other content creators I am wearing are Digit Darkes, Violet Voltaire, Poetic Colors and Shiny Things. Poses by Penny Dreadful Arcade.

There are many choices for supporting content creators. This is mine.

Winter is icumin in

With apologies to Ezra Pound and thanks to Puma Jie for her Blogger's Challenge. Three fall looks. I do love Autumn, but unfortunately winter follows... Until then I will enjoy the crisp days.



First up is the Diana skirt in brown from Kunglers, which I have paired with Muism's Superfine Polo neck in chocolate and Lyra Muse's Liah Boots in Gunmetal [no longer available alas:(] Skin is Curio's Breeze 2/Mudslide in Petal. Hair is City Life in Chestnut from FuseMelon & earrings are Divine Deco in Gold from Dark Mouse. I love the skirt as it comes in 3 sections--helpful for adjusting to your shape.



Next is the Ibizarre Highwaist Tweed Set, which comes with a useful black turtleneck. I love the tiered sculpty skirt and the buttoned high waist. My skin is PXL Creations Kim Spring Rose in Natural. The hair is Olivia in Henna from Amacci. Stocking are Dots from *Sheer*. Shiny Things/ Hyasynths in black adorn my feet. Last the jewelry set is from [chuculet], their sofia in gold/crocodile.



Last, but far from least I am wearing the BettiePage Voyager old fashioned CHIDORI skirt in brown houndstooth. It has a convenient resizer, but I guess my hips are wrong for it as I had trouble getting it to look perfect. But it's so charnming that a little less is okay :) Everything else I am wearing is the same as the first outfit, except my hair is Wren by Philotic Energy, still available in a small store across from Aems' new store, FuseMelon.
