Back from EXILE

To be honest I own very little Exile hair, but when I read on Plurk that Exile had new textures and new hairsies I trotted over. OK I waded through the lag and got some demos. I ended up buying Opal in the Naturals pack. I am a redhead, but I do like having options for particular looks. I am wearing 3 of the colors from that pack, Sunset, Chardonnay and Marone. What is special is the options of roots and streaks. I chose to show each color with a contrasting streak. The list of options seems to be the whole new color range, so experiment away!

Out of the Dark (Mouse)

One of my favorite jewelers has been having a LOT of trouble with the new SL search, which means that people can't find her classified ads that she has paid for when they search. So several of us who both love and admire Mouse Ministrobell and her Dark Mouse store want you to have a chance to see her beautiful creations. Oh and everything I am showing is on deep sale in her discount store on Taber. Sets for L$50 which often include bracelets and rings as well as earrings and necklaces with 2 attachment points. Fatpacks for L$100, which give you one set free. [FYI I paid for every item in this post.]

Mouse makes the premier vintage jewelry sets on the grid. The attention to period detail is delicious. I mean how long has it been since you wore screwback earrings? Her work is muted, occasionally tarnished as befits a vintage item, but NEVER dull or invisible. So without further ado, my attempt to bring Mouse out of the Dark.

They are RED!

I am visiting friends in Macedonia. They are at work and SL is down, so *finally* I blog!

I bought the Red Python shoes at the last Moody sale after craving them for ever so long. OK they are not the best shoes on the grid, so I'm a shoe slut. Cope!

I discovered [and fell in love with] Tomoto at the RFL Clothing Fair and bought this new dress called "summer" I think at the Fantasy Faire. It comes with two skirts, but I like the one with the yellow underskirt showing. Hair is Amrita. I couldn't find them recently so I guess they've poofed :( Earrings are the Suri from GANKED. Skin is an unreleased one from PXL Creations.

This is a mash-up with my new favorite trousers from Narwhal. The primmy bits are superb. I wish they made these in other colors. Top is an old one from First Impressions. The hair is Nantes from Tiny Bird, which I adore. Skin is Curio Breeze Mudslide 2 in Petal. Jools are from the talented hands of Jori Watler of alaMood.

5 Gold Rings....

OK…I had to get a festive title up and there are more than 5 gold rings in what I am blogging…lol
Now, I don’t usually do this but a friend, Mel, bought an amazing piece of jewellery last night and I managed to twist her rubber arm to let me shoot and blog about it.

The piece I am talking about is !Modern Gypsy! Statement Jewellery (Pride) in gold. Traditionally an African neck adornment to signify marriage worn by girls of the Ndebele people of South Africa. Also, The Kayan tribe or Padaung tribe of the Karen people from the border region of Myanmar and Thailand start wearing neck ornaments as children to stretch the neck. Modern Gypsy have put a contemporary twist to this piece by adding matching earrings.

The necklace is modify so adjustable, the textures and colour beautiful.

Enough said…I’ll let the picture of Mel show you how elegant it looks.

Three Little Things

A Bloggers Challenge

As we head into a new decade I thought it would be fun and instructive to share the 3 items in our inventory that we couldn't part with.

It was hard to choose ... let's see ... how many Last Call outfits do I own? What about my 5th & Oxford and PXL Creations skins? The dress and shoes named after me by sachi and Damen? All of Truth's recent hair? Miriel's no longer available eyes? My Oracul AO? My collection of too many houses?

I reined myself in and decided to pick just three "little things" that I would REALLY miss.

They are:
Celestial Studios Deviant Nation eyelashes
Poetic Colors Frozen Night eyes
ETD's Patricia in auburn burnt

A Long Wait for July ...

Hart Larsson of PXL Creations has finally released his July skins. Why so long? Because Hart is a perfectionist. And with July he has nigh well achieved it! When I was given a peek at a beta back in July I was totally hooked on Kim and didn't think July would work for me, but whatever magic took place, July is now my November skin:) I'm showing you three of the makeups in the Natural tone, the one that suits me best. I am a total sucker for PXL's Spring makeups, particularly the rose ones with soft shadow drawn out to the sides of the eyes. I also am addicted to Hart's freckles. One thing I admire in July is that the collarbonre is just in the right balance with the face. Sometimes you have a beautiful face parked on wire hanger collarbones --not here!

The body continues the lovely consistency. I wanted you to see the bum in the center and the push-up cleavage [in my case pushing up not much!] on the right. Cleavage seems to be the new black and PXL does it well.

I'm wearing Blowpop's scrummy undies, Yvette in Burgundy and my hair is Exiles Fastball in Pyre. Otherwise it's all PXL all the way :)

Supporting Content Creators

There are two ogranizations today that are supporting Content Creators through a boycott. While it did work with lettuce, I'm not convinced this is the way to go here.

Of the two I recommend to you Step Up! as their sim is full of educational material as well as stunning art exhibits by many well-known SL artists. Here's your limo: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Toor/157/176/30

For me, though, the best response to content theft, other than following the procedures in place, is to BUY. So I did. I went and bought hyasynth Tiramisu's newest goody, Gloomy in blue today. Other content creators I am wearing are Digit Darkes, Violet Voltaire, Poetic Colors and Shiny Things. Poses by Penny Dreadful Arcade.

There are many choices for supporting content creators. This is mine.

Whatsa "FuseMelon"?

A "FuseMelon" is what happens when Aemilia Case gets the itch to create. Housed on the Descolada sim [as is a smaller version of her former brand, Philotic Energy], FuseMelon showcases Aems' new clothes, new jewelry & other accessories AND her all new, totally splendiferous hair textures.

First is my very favorite of her new styles, City Life. I'm wearing it in Red Spice. It is a beautifully realized style that I will have trouble taking off. My pearls are from *FM* also, called the Forget Me Knot Pearls. I'm wearing them in antique. See the picture below to see how the knot works.

Here I am wearing two of the other new styles available. On the left is Two Hearts. on the right Another Trance, both in Red Spice. I'm wearing the Forget Me Knot Pearl earring and necklace in the duotone set of cream & black. This is one of the nicest set of pearls I've seen in a long time. Simple yet elegant.

In both sets of pictures I'm wearing Adam n Eve Skin - Siren - Berry - Tone 3 and Poetic Colors eyes

FuseMelon also has a nice selection of handbags and messenger bags. This is the Flower Power Purse in Berry. The hair, Seeking Me, comes with its color-change hat. I am wearing it in Sugar. My dress is Second Date in Spring from 5th & Oxford. Skin is my trusty PXL Creations Kim in Natural/Rose Lips. Shoes are Maitreya's Shanti in eggplant.

Heigh-ho! Come to the Fair!

The Jewelry Fair that is-- now being held until September 27 on two specially designed sims, built as a maze and themed to the seasons. Eolande Elvehjem and her busy elves have made this a relatively easy fair to circumnavigate. It is a continuous maze which ensures, unless you are like me and get turned around easily, that you see everything if you just keep walking. After some false starts I have made the trip. Due to a shortage of $$ I didn't buy much, but did want to share a bit of the loot.

First Violet Voltaire is baaaaaaaaaack :) YAY!!! While I liked her dollie faces, I ended up buying the Love in a Void Necklace in Black. The matching bracelets were dollarbies at her booth, so that ends up being a bargain as well as some superb jewelry.

In the middle is a simple bead necklace in beautiful fall colors from KunstKammer. And it was only L$100. On the right is my big purchase from Uzuri, the Anganasa earrings and necklace. Very ethnic with beautiful textures.

I did buy a lovely set from Eclectica, but I'm waiting for a replacement as the weekend inventory monster ate it :(

Kraftika has a booth at the Fair, but this beautiful collar, called no. 134, was dropped on me by its creator, Anuitka Barthelmess, and since I didn't see it at the booth I am showing it separately. It also comes in black metal, but I'm not seeing it in the store yet either. UPDATE: I was informed it was a group gift.

Other details:
Hair: 078 from kyoko's Hair Shop in White Well
Skin: Grace Natural Cateyes/Flamenco Lips with Freckles :)
Eyes: Poetic Colors--Lavender Fields

Don't miss the Jewelry Fair-it's well worth your time!

"Needs a Title" Post

After Fury's last fabulous post title I am at a loss. However, what I am showing you is far from that state. It involves a number of my favorite fashion houses as well as a sparkling new necklace from ICoN, the jewelry outlet of the very creative blogger, Surarin Piek.

I'm wearing MichiMi's Noomi dress in coffee/mint with the new ICoN necklace in Jade and Gold. ICoN's jewelry is always fashionable and never boring. AND it is not expensive -- only L$200. for the necklace in Jade AND Rose. And am I the only one that thinks that Milla makes the best browns on the grid?

Siren Sam

When sachi Vixen of Adam n Eve asked on Plurk if any blogger would like to review her new exotic skin, Siren, I thought what the heck. So I'm normally pale and redheaded -- let's give this a try. And I have to say that Siren is pretty amazing.

The face modeling is a bit dramatic, with a very small beauty mark. I photographed the Berry & Cherry makeups as they suited my avi better than the naturals. I wore my usual eyes and hair colors. I tried the darkest tone on first and was stunned. VERY different, but still Sam. For me Tones 2 & 3 are very wearable so expect to see me wandering around for a bit in them :) I love the eyeshadow on both Berry & Cherry. Thanks to sachi for letting me see Sam in a new and lovely light!

The Knobby Hair Post

After I saw Amacci's new Olivia on the feed I knew it was mine. I like it a LOT, especially the knobs and the escaping tendrils, but after a minute of mulling, I realized I had a number of knobby styles in my inventory. Hence the post title.

I'm wearing Olivia in Henna from the Copper pack. Top is from the new Ibizarre Tweed set. The earrings are the Sofia ones from [chuculet]. Skin is my new standby, Kim Natural Spring Rose from PXL Creations and my eyes are from poetic colors, the Summer-Lavender Field.

And here are the knobs I can remember owning approximately in order of acquisition:
Top row l/r:
Annie May III in Smolder from Celestial Studios; Patootie in Auburn Burnt from ETD
Bottom row l/r:
Christy in Auburn from Deviant Kitties; The Art Teacher in Nutmeg from Tiny Bird.

Each is different from the others, but all share that wonderful knobbiness that seems to entrance me.

Me and My Shadow

It started with 5th & Oxford dropping both their yet to be released skins and cocktail dresses on Samara and myself. Then, inspired by Achariya and Mourna’s joint posts, Sam and I agreed to do likewise.

The 5th&Oxford Summer Cocktail skins have the Audrey base with a new set of fresh, vibrant makeups. We both chose to wear the medium skin tone…Sam went for the simple, elegant make up no.5 with its ‘natural’ eyes and classic red lips. I chose the flashier no.6 with its blue eyes and rose lips. All the make ups are suitable for that cocktail party look.

The Cocktail Dresses that will be released at the same time as the skins are the typical quality and design we have come to expect of this creative pair. The dress is a retro styled system dress with prim details. The plunging neckline keeps this dress sassy, the vibrant colours match the make ups wonderfully and the design and textures are perfect. The prim sleeves finish the top beautifully and the wide prim belt completes the dress. Sam is wearing the dress in ‘Blue Lagoon’ as being a redhead it suited her and I wore ‘Cosmo’ as the red suited my colouring. There are 6 colours in total to chose from, one to suit everybody.

Next came the shoes…Sam dug into her inventory and after several tries decided upon the ETD peeps slingbacks in blue. I, on the other hand, knew exactly which shoes would complement the dress…AC Sasy Chic in Passion. Both sets of shoes complemented the classical, elegant look.

Keep an eye open for the skin and dress releases at http://roslinpetion.blogspot.com/

Sam suggested the title and no shadows were harmed in the making of this blog.

It's all about MichaMi!

As was announced yesterday Milla Michinaga has asked me to be Store Manager at MichaMi and I accepted happily :) While I miss Milla's fashion blog, at least now we get her fashion eye in her own creations. Speaking of which, I had these two outfits in the pipeline and what better time to share them with you as I begin my new duties:)

Above is the Selma camisole and shorts in Mint. The dotted swiss pattern on the cami doesn't show up as well as I'd like, but it's there. It's a bit sheer, although your "assets" benefit from a lovely built in bra look. The puffy shorts are a lot of fun to wear too! My belt is the Disk Belt Silver, by Mix and Match. I saw it on the feed and had to have it. It only comes on the jacket layer, but for L$50 I can live with that. Besides Milla *always* provides everything on every layer. My shoes are the Satin Bow-Tied in Green, now in their discount room for L$100. My earrings are Lucas Lameth's Dragonflies, now discontinued :( PXL Creations skin, Grace Cateyes/Rose Lips with Freckles in Natural is gracing my pixels. My hair is Deviant Kitties' Christy in Auburn.

In the second photo-collage I am wearing The Laila top from MichaMi in Cream with the Cigarette Pants from Michami's Joanie in gray. Laila does have its own wonderful trousers, but I like the little bit a of skin that shows on the side with the pair from Joanie. Shoes are, again, from the Shiny Things Discount area, the Lady Zig Zags in Fawn. I remember drooling over these when they were much much more. They are pre-sculpty, but still oh so good. My jewelry is the Platinum Spyraea Necklace & Earrings from Sue Stonebender's Appetite & Eve Jewelry Salon. My hair is Svea in Henna from Amacci. And I'm wearing the same PXL Creations skin as above. My eyes for both outfits are Frozen Night Medium from Poetic Colors. Now that Miriel Enfield is no longer making eyes, Poetic Colors has become my *eye crack* of choice. They aren't inexpensive, but they often have hunt gifts or freebies that ease the pain a bit.

So please poke me inworld if you want help at MichaMi --see you in the store!

Whippet & Buck go p.c.

Much of this week's buzz has been about the new Spring Collection at paper couture, but another event has taken place which should please those of us with more classic tastes. I am speaking of the formal opening of Whippet & Buck. Bits and pieces have been available previously, but it wasn't until recently that the spring/summer line has been shown together.

In honor of BOTH events I hereby offer a Whippet & Buck/paper couture mash-up.

My dress is the Bardot Tube Dress in Bordeaux. It's a lovely strapless sheath dress with a warm plaid pattern. I will show it soon in other guises, but here it holds its own beautifully with several paper couture accessories.

I'm wearing the belt from p.c.'s older dress, "Falling Leaves" and the new Carnelian Necklace and earrings set that pick up the orange in the dress beautifully. Shoes are my trusty ETD Heel Strap Platforms in Persimmon, my hair is Loraine 2 in Auburn, also from ETD. Skin is Fleur Shoujo #4 in Azalea. My eyes are Spanish Moss from Poetic Colors and eyelashes are the Deviant Nation ones from Celestal Studios.

Poses are from AnaLu *Fresh Poses*
