Hunt at Nicky Ree

Nicky Ree has a mini hunt on in her mainstore.

What are you looking for? The DNR Donna Collection in 10 colours. Each colour is boxed and priced at L$50. The collection consists of a simple short dress and matching lingerie. A choice of tops is given also from transparent to solid. The textures are divine, the net on the transparent top looks like you could touch it, the detail of it is wonderful.

I chose to show the undies…as that is more me…lol….and I’ll let the pictures do the rest. All the other styling details are listed below.

52 Week Colour Challenge…catch up, part 1

Thanks to Luna Jubilee for this wonderful blogger challenge…such fun finding things to wear…woot!

OK, my avatar is having problems in both V2. And Kirsten so, although these shots are taken before my problems the remainder, until further notice, will be from an alt I have made with less finances. I guess it’ll be more of a challenge for me.

My first catch up is for the colours Grey and Blue.

Grey was interesting as I thought I had quite a bit of grey in my inventory. Turns out I do but not a lot to my current liking….fickle? Yes!

Blue was a bit trickier, as it’s one of my favourite colours, but I love what I ended up with.

Slipping into Liquid Gold

Nicky Ree has taken the start of summer with a bang. She has re released the Nadia swimsuit sets in new textures. In this blog I am wearing the Nadia Liquid Swimsuit in Orange. The colour and sheen on this set are hot, hot, hot. The design is just as fabulous, a swim suit with pretentions of being a bikini. It comes with a prim skirt so it can double as a beach party dress. A wonderfully versatile piece of beachwear, guaranteed to set pulses racing.

The Nadia Liquid Set in red is currently on a dollerbie offer to group members in the beachwear section of the main store. This offer lasts until the 7th June…so hurry to grab this bargain before it goes.

I decided a darker skin tone would show off this wonderful costume better than pale so I went with PXL Creations Efe skin. I wanted the hair to reflect the skin but be contemporary and beachy; dD Niobe fit this bill. It has short dreads tied into a multitude of bunches, the ties being modify so you can mach your outfit. Being on the beach again I chose Slinks barefeet again, I cannot take them off my pixels at the moment.

LoveLace, A Blog in Four Parts....One

I adore underwear…especially retro and/ or sexy. When I saw Lovelace were doing a 99L$ promotion I decided to get as many pieces as I could. Once there I realised there was also a sale on, how could I resist??


When I was deciding how to shoot all this wonderful lingerie I initally thought of the phone prop and poses from Glitterati, with the tag of 'Hanging on the Telephone'. However, when I saw Glitterati’s new Black Box I just had to have it and that it would be ideal for this shoot.

A Feast of Undies

After seeing WTWs new underwear on Beanie Loves Japan! blog I popped over there and took a look at the new creations. I picked up 3 sets that appealed to me. All the underwear from WTW has excellent textures, colours and design. They are sexy, girl next door type undies…not out and out sex siren. I love them.

This purchase coincided with my visit to Attituede and being like a kid in a candy store, it was a question of restraint. I picked up the Swing! which is a wooden seated swing with flowers and four poses. I thought it an ideal way of showcasing the underwear.

Then I had a meadow full of flowers in my head as a location shoot. It had to be somewhere I could rezz objects too. So, I scanned one of the Flickr groups until I saw such a location. It’s wonderful and I will go back to explore more:

Kindred Soles

One of the first creators I had contact with in my Second Life® was Aphrodite Outlander of Aphrodite Creations. She was responsive to requests and lots of fun, so when she took a SL break, I missed her :( But she's baaaaaaack and best of all creating again.

My friend, companion in crime and fellow blogger, Fury Stapleton took the pictures of Aph's new Inure shoes. Now Inure has two meanings, the usual one a bit negative, but the positive one certainly applies: "To serve to the use or benefit." These shoes, coming as they do with 3 different heel styles for the teeny price of L$299 are not only beautiful, but very versatile.

Fury decided to show off the shoes alone so you can see the three types of heels and admire the colors and textures up close.


You can blame me for the red ones. :) You will find the shoes to your left as you enter the store.

Me and My Shadow

It started with 5th & Oxford dropping both their yet to be released skins and cocktail dresses on Samara and myself. Then, inspired by Achariya and Mourna’s joint posts, Sam and I agreed to do likewise.

The 5th&Oxford Summer Cocktail skins have the Audrey base with a new set of fresh, vibrant makeups. We both chose to wear the medium skin tone…Sam went for the simple, elegant make up no.5 with its ‘natural’ eyes and classic red lips. I chose the flashier no.6 with its blue eyes and rose lips. All the make ups are suitable for that cocktail party look.

The Cocktail Dresses that will be released at the same time as the skins are the typical quality and design we have come to expect of this creative pair. The dress is a retro styled system dress with prim details. The plunging neckline keeps this dress sassy, the vibrant colours match the make ups wonderfully and the design and textures are perfect. The prim sleeves finish the top beautifully and the wide prim belt completes the dress. Sam is wearing the dress in ‘Blue Lagoon’ as being a redhead it suited her and I wore ‘Cosmo’ as the red suited my colouring. There are 6 colours in total to chose from, one to suit everybody.

Next came the shoes…Sam dug into her inventory and after several tries decided upon the ETD peeps slingbacks in blue. I, on the other hand, knew exactly which shoes would complement the dress…AC Sasy Chic in Passion. Both sets of shoes complemented the classical, elegant look.

Ivalde...Vintage

So sad to see Ivalde close...I have many pieces in my inventory that I wear often. Please excuse the poor editing, was a rush job...but i think it still shows the outfits.

The first is one of my all time favourites and I wear it often...Ivalde Gertie rose dress. It's retro, feminine and pretty. from the chiffon bust to the floral print bodice and skirt...the textures are just perfect. The flexi frill addition to the skirt makes the whole dress complete. I love wearing it.

I chose a Fleur skin, Ingenue hair and RiArnya wedges to compliment the ensemble.

My second is a new purchase from the Retrology shop...the Ivalde maud purple Edwardian gown. It is elegant and represents the period perfectly. Again the textures are outstanding, with a lace bust and sleeve, followed by the bodice and skirt in beautifully pleated material. The design is breathtaking..using both a system skirt and a sculpty one to give the Edwardian shape..so clever. The ribbon is the perfect touch to the the whole dress.

This time I chose a La Sylphide skin, ETD hair and AC shoes to complete the look.

Oh, Mama!

In my country (Spain) we celebrated Mother's Day one week earlier that almost everyone else - it's always on the first Sunday of May for us. So, while everyone else was celebrating with their mums, I got away from my family for the weekend. Of course, as is customary whenever there's any special day on SL, I came back to a ton of notices that were doomed to getting lost. I could, however, rescue an important one saying that Nicky Ree had a special Mother's Day gift, available only until 12th May. Lookit!

It is, of course, not me but the dress, Satin Shine Floral Gown in blue. As is usual with Nicky Ree's designs, it comes with two different skirt options, but I'm only showing the ballgown one in the picture because I suffer from that common SL disease, called bigbummitis.

I guess I could have worn prim feet with this one, because surely no one would have noticed a skin colour mismatch. However, I opted for rescuing a pair sandals from last season, which I think picked up nicely on the purples and blues on the gown - they're Sasy Chic in Tulipe, from Aphrodite Creations. Also the delicate jewellery, from Dark Mouse, echoed the blue on the dress. They're the Spring Flowers earrings and necklace in silver, plus the Aquamarine Chunk Bracelet, also in silver.

The skin is an old favourite, a Vogue from Celestial Studios - although I had my doubts, because the new group gift from Rockberry (Uma) matched very nicely, too, also with purple smoky eyes. But I guess I've been changing skins so much lately that I liked the idea of getting back to a classic. The hair is ETD's Tiana, eyes and lashes are from Miriel and poses are from the Reel Expression "Party dress" set.
