One Good Shot Deserves Another!

This whole post began with the Vermont Sweater from the wonderful new men's brand, VanGuard who have a branch store on Copley Square. I am wearing it in Clay. The other colors for this sweater are equally as subtle. The primmy parts come with a resize script that works very well. I paired them with the no longer available ETD Silver Jeans.

I kept the boots, skin and hair from above [see below], but changed into MichaMi's very sophisticated Kat Dress in Golden Brown. Milla's textures are superb and this dress is no exception. It has both sculpted and system skirts, the latter at my request and which I am wearing. My leggings are Maisie in Cream, also from MichaMi. Jewelry is from FuseMelon, the Forget Me Knot Pearl Two Tone set.

Worn in both pictures:
Boots: Elikatira Secret Boots in Dune
Hair: ETD Aveda Short Crop in Sienna
Skin: Adam & Eve Taylor in Smoke Natural

52 Cerise

Now *I'm* the one who is behind again. So here, a bit later, is CERISE! I started with the ~silent sparrow~ special edition Lysander suit, but in the end all I am wearing from it are the belt and the wings, which I tinted slightly. My tube top and pants are from 5th + Oxford. They are having a brand-closing sale. Everything is 50L including these nautical outfits. My shoes are from Adam n Eve, the newish Margots in cerise/white. My skin is and old Fleur Allure one [alas no longer available] and the earrings are "No Love Lost" from Violate Voltaire. Poses are from the "Naughty & Nice" set from /GEEZ/.

From Copley Square

As many of you know I work for the Copley Square shopping sim. Normally I try to keep work and blogging apart, but when I found myself wearing and posing "a la CS" I decided to blog:)

The dress is from MIU, a new one called Astray. It comes with many more parts than I am wearing [leggings, armwarmers, cowl neckpiece etc...], but the basic dress plus shrug felt right for me.The design and textures are nicely done and the dress is a fun one to wear. I've paired it with the new Kanins Promenade boots, still at a promo price until Thursday I believe. Eleven colors in one slick, stylish boot. Not bad. My 3rd CS item are the poses from Gesticulate, a new store that is new to Copley too!

Otherwise I am wearing Eha hair, Violet Voltaire's "No Love Lost" in Iron, Blowpop fishnets (R) and my favorite PXL Creations skin Candy with cateyes and bronze lips. (R)

Summer Shopping

Two of the best places for summer SL shopping are Artilleri and Whippet&Buck. With a bit of Humming thrown in. From left to right...

W&B Lizzy Cropped Boatneck in Coral. This one is a real teaser, Modest front then a tied peek-a-boo back. It comes in so many colors that you should just get the fatpack and be done with it. On the bottom are the Artilleri Johanna Denim Shorts. They are a bit high-waisted with the best rolled cuffs ever! Earrings are Whippet&Buck's Aemilia. Again in many colors. And yeah just get that fatpack LOL

Artilleri's Darla shirt in red, minus its red tie is paired with W&B's Georgie shorts in West Coast. Many beautiful colors. Don't make me say it again ;) Violet Voltaire Heart Container earrings and pink plaid flats from In Her Shoes complete the look.

Finally, those Artilleri shorts again with the CheckGauze Shirt from Humming and Shiny Things Zimmy Flats.

So get thee to a store and stock up for summer!

In all pictures: FuseMelon City Life hair in Red Spice and the new La Sylphide Claire skin in Gold/Light. All poses by /GEEZ/

Maisie, Maisie, Tell me your Answer True!

MichaMi has moved from Muse to Glitter [limo below] and Milla has released some new goodies. Disclaimer, I'm the MichaMi store manager, but I wore Milla's clothes long before that, so I feel justified in saying that the Maisie top & leggings and Pia cutout leggings are up to her usual standards. I'm wearing the Maisie top in Red and the Pia leggings in Gold. As usual everything comes on every layer for the mix 'n' match maven.

Also newsworthy is that Aden is back. I am wearing Aden Autumn in Hazel. The scarf is color/pattern change via a drop down menu. Boots are the J's Ankle Boots in Sand. Skin is July Natural SpringPassion from PXL Creations. Earring are No Love Lost from Violet Voltaire. It is one of the sets currently on sale at her store for 50% off.

Your MichaMi limo awaits: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Glitter/70/80/22

Sometimes things just happen...

I have an embarrassing backlog of posts to do, but sometimes you end up in outfits that just blog so easily. Hence these two for a Sunday.

The first resulted from the perfect marriage of the !lamb Bang Bang Bob hairstyle in Butterfinger, still available for 50l Fridays through today and the Tuli Eva group gift skin in tone 3. Somehow the colors and textures just seemed to work. I love the slightly ragged edges in the hair, much more realistic than an even line. BTW Tuli's Eva, at least the gift one, has eyelashes on the skin. When well done, as these are, that is a real plus. Then the Dark MouseM Spheres in Peridot Necklace - Copper finished the look. I changed in MichaMi's Laila in Wine, as I'm not allowed to show you what's about to be new at MichaMi :)

The second outfit started with the Stitch top from Sweetest Goodbye, which I had seen on the feed. The question then became how to select the rest of the outfit. Violet Voltaire's No Love Lost set was easy. It shared that edginess that the top has. But black trousers just didn't work, nor did really brown ones either. So I am wearing the Isabeaux leather pants in brown [really a kind of greenish brown] from LF Fashion and some old Liah boots in Gunmetal for Jaywalk, alas no longer available. The hair is the new Eva from Exile in Auburn. It's a bit too ladylike for the rest of the outfit, but oh well :)

Again thanks are due to the 37 bloggers who took up my 3 Little Things challenge:

Supporting Content Creators

There are two ogranizations today that are supporting Content Creators through a boycott. While it did work with lettuce, I'm not convinced this is the way to go here.

Of the two I recommend to you Step Up! as their sim is full of educational material as well as stunning art exhibits by many well-known SL artists. Here's your limo: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Toor/157/176/30

For me, though, the best response to content theft, other than following the procedures in place, is to BUY. So I did. I went and bought hyasynth Tiramisu's newest goody, Gloomy in blue today. Other content creators I am wearing are Digit Darkes, Violet Voltaire, Poetic Colors and Shiny Things. Poses by Penny Dreadful Arcade.

There are many choices for supporting content creators. This is mine.

Heigh-ho! Come to the Fair!

The Jewelry Fair that is-- now being held until September 27 on two specially designed sims, built as a maze and themed to the seasons. Eolande Elvehjem and her busy elves have made this a relatively easy fair to circumnavigate. It is a continuous maze which ensures, unless you are like me and get turned around easily, that you see everything if you just keep walking. After some false starts I have made the trip. Due to a shortage of $$ I didn't buy much, but did want to share a bit of the loot.

First Violet Voltaire is baaaaaaaaaack :) YAY!!! While I liked her dollie faces, I ended up buying the Love in a Void Necklace in Black. The matching bracelets were dollarbies at her booth, so that ends up being a bargain as well as some superb jewelry.

In the middle is a simple bead necklace in beautiful fall colors from KunstKammer. And it was only L$100. On the right is my big purchase from Uzuri, the Anganasa earrings and necklace. Very ethnic with beautiful textures.

I did buy a lovely set from Eclectica, but I'm waiting for a replacement as the weekend inventory monster ate it :(

Kraftika has a booth at the Fair, but this beautiful collar, called no. 134, was dropped on me by its creator, Anuitka Barthelmess, and since I didn't see it at the booth I am showing it separately. It also comes in black metal, but I'm not seeing it in the store yet either. UPDATE: I was informed it was a group gift.

Other details:
Hair: 078 from kyoko's Hair Shop in White Well
Skin: Grace Natural Cateyes/Flamenco Lips with Freckles :)
Eyes: Poetic Colors--Lavender Fields

Don't miss the Jewelry Fair-it's well worth your time!

In the Pink of the Mode!

I knew I wanted "In the Pink" for my post title, but looked it up just to be sure I wasn't committing some linguistic faux pas. And found the above phrase in the literary definitions!

The "pinks" in question are hya's Panty Raid Hunt goodie, the Helena set in Madder, and MichaMi's Beatrix dress, in Pink of course:) I'm wearing them both with Truth's new Marianne hair in Auburn and one of the about-to-be-released Audrey Summer Cocktail skins from 5th & Oxford. My shoes above are ETD's Peep Slingbacks in Purple. Please note hya's wonderful textures. Jewelry is Violet Voltaire's Melancholy in Purple.

MichaMi's Beatrix is a dress I had ignored until now, but, with my new job at MichaMi I thought I should give it a try and I'm glad I did. The skirt is a fun one giving sudden peeks at the teeny plaid panties underneath. SHOCKING ;) My shoes are Shiny Things Lady Zig Zags in Black and my jewelry is the Alienbear Teardrop set in Black

Michami MIX

(Say that fast 5 times)

I'm a great fan of Milla Michinaga's work, although I still miss her blog. Her outfits are always chic and always offered in enough layers to satisfy even the most finicky avi. But for me the fun comes in the mixing and matching.

Briefly I'm wearing the leggings from Glitter Tube & Leggings, the bodice from the Orla dress and the sheer tunic from the Aaliya Bikini set. I could have worn the cigarette pants from Joanie or the Laila Skinny Pants, but the angle on the back of the leggings complemented the angle on the tunic. I also am happy with the little bit of back that shows between the tunic and the bodice.

My shoes are Marie in Black from Tesla. Hair is the new "freebie" from Amacci, Adena in Deep Copper. My skin is the second skin I ever bought. It is an old Gala Medium-Gray. Earrings are Violet Voltaire's Melancholy in black.

Spring has come to Fleur!

Roslin Petion just dropped 6 of the most gorgeous Fleur Shoujo skins that I have ever seen on me. Each is a total expression of spring and will complement nicely the wonderful floral dresses we are seeing on the grid. I'm going to keep it simple and just show you the 6 makeups in my preferred skintone, Azalea. I hope you can see how totally tender, flirty and gently sexy these skins are:)

Fleur Shoujo Spring Skins 1-6

Only fashion notes are Violet Voltaire's Melancholy earrings in White and ETD Tyra hair in Auburn Burnt.

The Fleur Shoujo Spring Skins will be released tomorrow, Sunday, March 22!

Sn@tchable Goodies!

I'm liking the Pose Challenge from Achariya's Pose Challenge as there is no rule that says you can't post more than once :) So today I am featuring Ivey Deschanel's poses from her store, Sn@tach, now on sale for the measly amount of L$17 each. I'm not sure how much longer that will last, so best to sn@tach them up while you can!

Sn@tch's poses are a bit edgier and unusual than some other poses I have. Since the poses are numbered I don't feel the need to label them as I did with the poses from {flowey}. The full set does include 29 poses, of which Iam showing the requested 5 :)

To show off these versatile poses I am wearing:

Hair: Maaliyah in Auburn Burnt from ETD
Skin: custom skin from Soda
Necklace/Earrings: Melancholy in Violet from Violet Voltaire
Top: Trixie Cami in Wisteria from Celestial Studios.
Jacket: Slink Tie Front Shirt in white
Pants: Persona's Itaparica in brown
Shoes: Heel Strap Platforms in Orchid from ETD

Unaccustomed as I am ...

... to wearing hair or skin from anyone other than ETD or Fleur, I'm doing so for today's mashup.

It started with the hair from Analog Dog. It's the first short style I've seen from then that I really like, although I actually had to stretch it to make the hairline work for me. [Usually their hair swallows me whole.] The style is Mia and I'm wearing it in Cherry I think. [I'm one of those whose login is currently blocked for inventory maintenance. Now if I could just get them to organize it for me LOL]

As did half the grid I think, I wandered over to the Aoharu sale. Did some serious damage in shoes, looked at the clothes and they still weren't for me. But I'd never looked at their skins before so off I trotted down the sim to Aoharu2. I fell for Lisa Pinky Eye for its eyeshadow and blush. The body detail isn't super, but then that face did me in. And at half-price why not?

Rest of the mashup is the Trixie cami in Wisteria from Celestial Studios, Violet Voltaire's No Love Lost necklace, Michami's cigarette pants from the Joanie outfit in black and without their delicious prim cuffs. The cuffs from the pants conflicted with my orginal boots so I just made myself some matching socks. Shoes are Maitreya's Mishima Dawn in Puce, while the belt is the pouch belt in black from Shiny Things.

Christmas in January

Roslin and CJ gave each of the Fleur staff a custom skin for the Holidays. I received mine yesterday and it was well worth waiting for! I had fallen in love with the new Shojo skintone, Azalea, which retains the Shojo combination of powder and glow, so knew that was where I would start. I LOVE the coral lips from the Shojo DNB 1 so that was my next step. Then the question was -- what eyes? I ended up selecting the purple/indigo eyeshadow from the Nicky Ree collaboration skin, Elizabeth, and I have to say I am totally smitten with the result :) Thank you soooooo much :)

I'm wearing one of the first tops I bought from Chic Boutique way back when. I always loved the cable stitching and the soft bow. The jeans are Kari's John Doe. My jewelry is Violet Voltaire's Girl Germs Cameo Set: Spider. Hair is ETD's Patootie in auburn burnt.
